The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is right around the corner, which means that you can expect a lot of announcements to come from the festival’s organizers in the next couple of weeks. Among them are Los Angeles-based collective Do Lab, whom have revealed the official lineup details for their stage at this year’s edition of the festival.
As with previous years, the Do Lab stage will feature performances from artists who span the electronic music spectrum. The first weekend will consist more heavily of bass music artists like Paper Diamond, Brillz and Ghastly. A more four-four-centric roster will follow on the second weekend, which will feature the likes of Oona Dahl, Autograf and Hotel Garuda.
The 2015 recap video for the Do Lab stage at Coachella can be seen in the YouTube player above, and below is the full lineup for the stage as well as a breakdown...

There are those films that make for an uncomfortable viewing experience, and it would be difficult to describe Alexandros Avranas’ sophomore feature by any other choice of words.
Despite an uncomfortable viewing experience it is a thought provoking piece of filmmaking that stands out as one of the films of the year. HeyUGuys recently spoke with Avranas who took us under the skin of a film whose subject and style of storytelling is universal.
Why a career in filmmaking? Was there that one inspirational moment?
I studied sculpture, and so I was a part of the art scene for a long time. On a personal level it is very important for me to make art and to make films, because I want to say something political; to say something about the society that I live in. So from my perspective this is the only reason for art and cinema to exist,...

An eternal backdrop of the unknown; the pinnacle of human exploration; the birthplace of all mankind – from the tiniest of details to the most astonishing of revelations, we have learnt much of outer space during our time upon this planet, yet a vast galaxy of mystery still lies beyond the clouds. Perhaps this sense of unparalleled wonder is why space has provided the perfect proving ground for many of cinema’s most powerful and revelatory fables concerning human self-discovery. Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity is no exception to this distinguished cinematic accolade – the director joining the ranks of filmmaking greats such as Andrei Tarkovsky (Solaris) and Stanley Kubrick (2001: A Space Odyssey).

The human experience seems to be the flavor of the week, or rather, of the past five years. From illustrators to authors to filmmakers everyone is concerned with capturing what it means to be a person today. Two filmmakers in particular have released films in the past year that illustrate in two vastly different ways the life of the modern human.
Benh Zeitlin tackled the issue in his 2012 Sundance breakout film Beasts of the Southern Wild, a film chronicling the adventures of six-year-old Hushpuppy as she and her ailing father navigate life in a near-forgotten society outside the levees of New Orleans. When a hurricane hits, the society, called the Bathtub, is flooded, causing Hushpuppy to view the universe as a puzzle interconnected by various pieces. It’s a naïvely beautiful take on the world and its inhabitants.
Much of the story is told by Hushpuppy via voiceover and lends...

Hitting movie theaters this weekend:
Hop – Russell Brand, James Marsden, Elizabeth Perkins
Insidious – Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins
Source Code – Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga
Movie of the Week
Source Code
The Stars: Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga
The Plot: A soldier (Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it.
The Buzz: Source Code looks to be a Quantum Leap meets Groundhog Day sci-fi action romp. 35 seconds into the film’s trailer, I half expected Jake Gyllenhaal to utter, “oh boy.” He instead exclaims, “no, no, no, no,” as if to echo my thoughts exactly — I don’t want to see Gyllenhaal act the same “stop the terrorist on the train” scene, over and over and over again.
I have a strong feeling that this...

We're still not entirely sure what Jennifer Elster's In the Woods, aka Itw Pathway, which she described as "a mysterious, existential film journey: a walk into the unknown", is all about; but we have to admit we're intrigued. Today comes a new entry entitled "…In The Woods Part One and The Human Experience Tour".
Here's the text that accompanies the video:
Currently we are popping up in different locations, sneaking previews, sharing the …In The Woods Experience Part One. Many interesting questions asked: “what did you learn from the making of the Being trilogy, …In The Woods, Into The Cave and Into The Studio?” The simplicity of the answer cannot possibly convey what has been gained from the experience. All of the information is in the films.
Let’s return to our truest selves
right before our eyes.
Okey dokey, kids - got any ideas what's going on here?...

There is only one new movie opening wide this weekend, and it is Shawn Levy's Date Night starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey. Will they be able to topple Clash of the Titans? Without the power of 3-D on their side, it's going to be an uphill battle. The Runaways is also expanding to just over 200 screens this weekend, while the religious drama Letters to God is in semi-wide release. Some of the interesting movies playing on just a few screens include Australian thriller The Square and After.Life starring Christina Ricci, Liam Neeson and Justin Long. What will you be watching?
