Dot is still not coping very well with giving up smoking and is offending people all over the place.
She is hunting Ethel all over the square, and manages to upset Mary and offend both Pauline and Michelle - all within minutes.
Den tries to give Lofty an engagement ring for Michelle, but ends up having to accept a token amount for it.
Andy makes a pass at Mary during their reading lesson and she thinks it is because everyone sees her as a 'tart' like Dot does, because of her previous work as a stripper. It turns out that a pimp has tried to recruit her as well. Andy reassures her.
Lofty manages to ask Michelle to marry him 'officially' and make it vaguely romantic, against all odds and produces the ring eh got from Den. He then announces it at the Vic to cheers from the customers, and even seems to have won over Pauline and Arthur.
Angie and Andy get drunk and end up spending the night together.
Meanwhile Hannah again organises some alone time with Tony, with co-operation from the kids.
