An exquisite short film, beautifully made

I viewed a screening of this film yesterday, 7/12 at LA's Outfest where it was first on the program. "The Closet" is a fine example of film making art - telling a complex sensitive story through images, i.e., visually with very little need for words. It is magnificently cast and acted - a real gem. Had it been programmed with similar short films, it would have been even more appreciated, I believe. In the program on 7/12, it was a bit overshadowed by the full-length documentary verité following it, however all who created it should be quite proud of what they have achieved.

There was a Q&A with Director Hendler and Producer Huberwald in attendance. Unfortunately, I was unable to compliment them on their achievement since time was short. (Comments on the 2nd film took up all the Q&A time.)

Great Job

I just viewed this short film and thought it was excellent. In less than four minutes, I experienced a beginning, middle and end to a story. The film was well-written, well-acted and well-edited. Filmmaking is a tough business and much praise is deserved for this effort. I cannot imagine the amount of time involved in the creation of this film. This effort goes to show that good work can be of any length. Even though I did not see it in a festival, I agree with the earlier comment about this film. I hope to see more efforts from this filmmaking team. In the past, I paid little attention to short films. I have changed my viewpoint and now realize that it may take greater skills to do a good job with little time. Again, this collaborative effort is noteworthy for many good things and everyone involved should be proud.
