Everyone else is wrong !
alib-162902 April 2021
I will start by happily admitting I did not like the demo at all but after being convinced by a friend to try again boy was I wrong. You will hear a lot of hate from people on this one and all I can say is they probably don't know how to play the game and maybe have been ( like I was with the demo ) to impatient. There is a lot to get to grips with so may take a while to get used to. In the long haul I believe this will be an amazing game with lots of developer support, here's hoping I'm right but for now it's pretty damn awesome 👍🏻

Banger year for gaming
Neptune16516 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I played the demo, The enemies explode literally when you kill them with bullets. This looks weird. Ryse son of Rome has graphics better than this game. Man the gun and the player animation are so bad in the game. I was disappointed with this game when I tried demo. Movement felt limited, shooting didn't felt satisfied. Overall game is average but damn hype is on another level. This is what happening when you invest more in marketing then in actual game. Too much dialog in the game. Really annoying of them to continuously have the little black screen for 1.5 seconds. It would be alright if it happened once or twice, but literally before and after every cutscene is horrible. WAY too much cinematic garbage. I though this was a video game? Seriously is it just me. This game looks trash. Sick to death of these half baked games. I don't know but it's mechanics looks like crappy gears of war ripoff to be honest. Half of this demo is legit just cutscenes or pointless dialogue.

Good to go!

Warning: Spoilers
Started this in 2022 and I like it. Great graphics and good gameplay with great combat mechanics. Storyline is interesting and plays like a AAA rpg-game. Don't like the online stuff and with no option to pause on console is one of the downsides. Other than that it's a great game in 2022!

Why the hate ?

I agree the demo was a bit naff. But playing this now is amazing. I love the combat and gameplay and customisation. It's what anthem should have been.

Incredible game
Pjte15 September 2021
I just wished I could have played this on a next-gen console as I am sure it would look stunning. The gameplay is incredible, graphics amazing, storyline original and unique. The servers have seemingly been fixed as unfortunately they were a major issue at the start for this game and contributed to many of the negative reviews as they kept locking people out (myself included) but since that has all seemingly been fixed now I can give this game a perfect rating.

Unplayable!
bouy_ar20 April 2021
When somebody buys a game, it is assumed that it will be playable according to the product description. In this case 3 players co-op game. Since release date players were suffering from lag and getting disconnected. So it is NOT playable at all. In addition to inventory disappearing issues, and Square Enix give zero care about players.

I gave it 1/10 because of one reason, there is no 0/10.

Good luck !

Overly Generic Looter Shooter
feradinxd1 April 2021
This game what it would feel like if you took, Gears of War, Destiny and The Division and threw them together.

Sadly, it has worse cover mechanics then Gears, with a few enemy attacks straight up going through cover to hit you on the other side. It has more generic writing then Destiny 1 with a story that feels more generic than a Young Adult Fiction novel. It also has the same bullet sponge bosses that The Division is famous for.

The abilities start off cool but slowly loose pace with the rest of your arsenal, to the point where I am currently Level 19 and unable to kill normal ads with my abilities.

The character Look customization is lack luster as your truck you drive around in has deeper looks customization.

The skill tree for each class is expansive, with tiny upgrades leading to occasional bigger percentage and stat upgrades. That are separated into three categories for each class.

All of the guns in the game (As long as they are the same type) feel the same. A white assault rifle will feel no different from a purple besides the extra effects your bullets do.

Weapon upgrading and customization are actually quite decent, with the ability to spend materials to keep it up with current level gear or to change out the effects your bullets have on enemies.

There is no transmog in this game, so when you have high level gear, it is possible to look either cool or like you came out of a wardrobe wearing anything that stuck to you.

In short, if you have the Xbox Game Pass, I would recommend trying it since you can play for free. On any other platform, I would give it a pass and if you are still interested, buy it when it is on sale, that might help ease the disappointment.

Awful endgame
passan-8067018 April 2021
Division 2 is a product that nobody cares about, it has no vision. Destiny 2 is ... ehm Destiny 2. Anthem was dead before it even arrived. Ghostrecon has no reason to exist. Borderlands is frustratingly boring with its fetch quests. Now we have Outriders.

The story is great and the game definitely has an identity, but there is only one way to play this game and unfortunately it is not about skill and knowledge, it is exclusively about the numbers on your gear. That's why this game will not die, but dry out very quickly. In a short time, it will become very toxic. This is not a game you will play to relax or calm down like the others.

Division 1 and 2 do it right. There is some hard and frustrating content, but there is enough stuff to do while just leaning back and farm grind or try out new stuff.

Outriders on the other hand is always stressful thanks to the downscaling and the frustrating amount and combinations of enemies.

Additionally, considering the last statement from the developers how this game is supposed to be a "combat puzzle" shows how inept and distend they are from reality. I do not have much faith in them at all.

This game has potential to be good, more then the other looter shooter. But if we would rate every product on potential, then everything would get a pass.
