Sarah Ferguson Duchess of York recently turned down the chance to appear on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, despite being offered a five figure pay packet.
An insider told The Sun that BBC bosses made the offer to Sarah after viewers expressed disappointment with last year’s “lacklustre” line-up. The larger than normal fee was put to the Duchess before her recent cash for access scandal emerged. Since being outed as offering access to her Royal ex husband for huge amounts of cash, Sarah tried to claim that she only did so because she is broke. However she wasn’t broke enough to appear on a lowly reality TV show.
A source said: “Despite a really big offer way above the average fee, she didn’t seem keen to put in four months’ work and refused to take part.
“It looks as though Fergie thought she could earn more money over a few dinners.

Britain's Duchess of York is in talks to host a daytime television program. Sarah Ferguson is speaking to bosses at ITV to take over from "This Morning" host Fern Britton when she leaves the hit program later this summer.
Even if she doesn't land the main hosting role, the channel - which has previously commissioned Sarah to present two documentaries - is hoping to offer her work on the show.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "She is a big fan of the show and is keen to carry on her TV work. Even if she doesn't end up doing the job, we would still love her to make films for us and she could definitely be a stand-in host."

A documentary featuring former British royal Sarah Ferguson is under threat after one of its main stars was arrested over a suspected drugs death.
Terri Eccles, 24, put her family forward for The Duchess In Hull, a reality TV programme where Ferguson attempts to improve the diet of an unhealthy family living on government-assisted welfare.
But filming for the documentary has been halted after Eccles was questioned by police following the death of an 18-year-old man.
A spokesman for Ferguson - the ex-wife of British royal Prince Andrew - says, "She has been alerted to this terrible situation and has been asked to be kept informed."
Executives at TV network Itv will make a decision on the future of the programme this week (begs28Apr08).
