Sex & Nudity

  • A woman is briefly seen wrapped in a towel after a shower, but no nudity is shown.
  • There are a few kisses but no sex scenes.
  • There may be a few sexual comments or references, but they are relatively mild and infrequent.

Violence & Gore

  • A couple of characters are eaten by dinosaurs. This happens mostly off screen, but we do briefly see blood squirt when one character is killed.
  • A character goes missing, and the others notice a trail of blood leading away from where they have been sleeping.
  • Two characters are injured when the machine they are in crashes. Some blood is shown on their faces, and they are knocked unconscious.
  • A woman crushes a smaller dinosaur's skull with a rock. Some blood is shown on her neck.
  • A character punches another character in the face.

Profanity

  • Two B words, around ten S words, and several D words and H words. God's name is taken in vain a few times, but it is not paired with the D word. No F words. The language is mild to moderate for a PG-13 movie.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man smokes a cigar, and there is a reference to going out for drinks.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The first half of the film involves the main characters running from dinosaurs. The second half involves giant spiders. Both of these might be scary for some, but the special effects are not the best. The spiders look very fake.
  • There is a scene where a couple characters discover snake-like creatures living inside lava, and then the creatures chase them. This scene is intense, but the special effects are not the most realistic.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A character vomits up blood and spider eggs after being wrapped in a giant spider's web. Later, the person's stomach graphically explodes, and baby spiders begin crawling out. Blood sprays everywhere, including onto another character. This scene is graphic, but it is fairly brief.
