I saw The Private Eye, starring Matt Rife-a stand up comedian that you might have seen in Just Swipe, Wild 'N Out_tv; Clare Grant-Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Walk the Line; Elliot-The Elevator, El Camino: A Tale of Brotherly Revenge and Eric Roberts-Space Sharks, The Expendables.
Matt plays a private eye that is guarding a video store, as the movie begins. There have been several robberies in the area lately and Matt helps catch the culprit. He is a hero for a while but the adoration soon fades and the work slows down. Clare comes to his door, wanting to hire him to follow her boyfriend, Elliot. Matt thinks it's an unusual case but the money is good-and he is broke-so he accepts the job. Eric plays a cell mate to Matt when Matt gets arrested and ends up in jail. Eric is also the narrator of the movie. There are some twists as Matt goes deeper into the case and there are some humorous situations-one of the funniest is with a cab driver.
It's rated R for language, violence and sexual content-no nudity-and has a running time of 1 hour & 55 minutes.
It would be a good one to stream.
