During one scene, Tucker Max states that something is worse than a Friend's spin-off. Geoff Stults, who plays his best friend, Dan, played a role on "Joey" (2004), a spin-off based on a character in "Friends" (1994). moreFAQ

First and foremost... do not listen to the bad reviews, this movie was side splitting and full of memorable quotes and moments. Anyone saying this movie sucked is merely lying to themselves or pretending they're way more sophisticated then they are.
Going into this movie you must know what it is. It is a film adaptation of the famous book "I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell", but more importantly this is the film adaptation of only a few chapters. It mostly focuses around their trip to Texas, however their are little bits of other chapters thrown in. The way they choose to do this was excellent. Any big fan of the book will appreciate the small throw ins from other stories within the book. Their were a few things thrown in that had nothing to do with the book, but I assume most fans will understand that that is Hollywood for you and it simple had to be done so they could have a semi-successful main stream release.
Now all things with the book aside, this movie stood on its own. The characters were incredible and the one liners were show stopping. I left the theater screaming so many memorable lines it was shocking that people weren't annoyed by me (quite the opposite happened... they began instead screaming their own favorite lines). Their was only a 15 min period that was laugh free... aside from that their was a good line or event that left the theater howling about every three minutes... anyone who was left without tears of hilarity in their eyes was honestly lying to themselves or just didn't get the incredible sarcasm and humor.
I most say Tucker Max is the f**king man... but who steals the show in the film is Drew (or Slingblade as he is known in the book). He was my personal favorite person in the book, however in the movie he truly steals the show. I love the compassion you see in his character in the film, which isn't talked about in the book (apart from a quick side note that only avid readers of the book would notice). This along, with the angst wit and angry humor that is often shown in the book, makes him the unintended focal character of the film.
But seriously, I feel that everyone must see this movie. It's worth the 10 bucks (and this is coming from someone who downloads most movies he sees) and I promise everyone if not anything else, that you will laugh more then once. Let me put it this way... no movie since Anchorman has had me in such tears that I felt it necessary to text message my entire contact list telling them to see the movie ASAP.
God I too Hope They Serve Beer In Hell... and I hope that Tucker is making the toasts.
