Decent episode, multiple storylines going on and they're all working together well. Good acting and cinematography.

Love the show, problems with this episode

I am thoroughly enjoying Deadwind and overall it's a great show with excellent character development and acting, with good enough plots to go along for the ride. I rated the show as an 8 but I had some issues with this particular episode.

It struck me as a bit lazy when they explain away why nobody could identify the perp in any way because the only person in an entire hospital(!) that saw her is now (like the next day) on vacation in Brazil and off the grid with no access to phone or internet. OH REALLY. Then they go to the person visited by the perp and he can't speak due to a neurological disorder. OH REALLY.

It just seems like there would have been less fantastical ways to continue to conceal the perp's identity without these far-fetched reasons for why nobody can say anything about her.

Then we have a political staffer who is seen getting in a car with a political enemy, admits (falsely as it turns out but nonetheless) to having an affair with him directly to the mayor, and she....says and does nothing?? Seems like grounds for immediate dismissal to me. How can you possibly trust this person to be on your side??

Great show, I hope this was just a minor misfire and it continues on with the quality it established up to this point.

Love the show but some of these writers just write stuff that is not believable. We have a female mayor who has her emails swiped and we find out that her personal assistant walks into a car with her advisory. How can you trust her anymore. I would fire her on the spot and have her investigated about these emails. So if that wasn't bad enough this takes the cake. So the two lead detectives find out that the next potential victim is the mayor. They reach out to the mayor at City Hall and she has no police detail with her. Are you serious?! And then after being rescued she has no police at house.
