Frenchie is in his apartment, getting high while Cherie and Jay look on. He talks about the TV show 'The Golden Girls' that kept him going when he was on the streets, holds up a chemical bomb, and asks who wants to rob a bank.
Now
At the safehouse, Frenchie prepares to cut the tracking chip out of Annie's neck, as Hughie looks on. Hughie and Annie insist that they're just friends to Frenchie, and Frenchie goes to work with a cutter while Hughie staunches the blood with cotton pads. He finally takes the chip out.
A perp ducks into an alleyway with his stolen money. Homelander flies down and Stormfront cuts off the perp's escape when he tries to run. She easily disarms him, breaking his hand, and the two Supes argue about what to do with him. Stormfront fondles Homelander's crotch, and Homelander crushes the perp's head with his hand, and then he and Stormfront have sex, covered in the perp's blood.
At the safehouse, Billy and Kimiko a pre-recorded interview from the movie, with Stormfront and Homelander. Meanwhile, Milk looks at a drawing that his child made for him, and Frenchie, Hughie, and Annie come in and Frenchie says that they got the chip out. He sarcastically asks Kimiko if she's back there because she's tired of killing people for money. Kimiko gives him the finger and walks over to Annie. She glares at Annie for a moment, and then enthusiastically hugs her.
Hughie tells Billy that they took out Annie's chip, and Billy and Annie exchange verbal barbs. Annie says that she broke into Stormfront's laptop, and she has dozens of emails from Edgar about how they're close to a breakthrough at the Sage Grove Center, a psychiatric hospital in Pennsylvania. Billy figures they'd better take a look at the place, and invites Annie to come along with them. When Hughie is surprised, Billy says that Vought will go after Annie rather than them since she's turning traitor.
Maeve is at home watching an ad she made for "Proud Bars", Deep comes in and says that he didn't find the black box. He tells Maeve that a school of halibut found a camera, and Maeve tells him that if he wants back into the Seven then not to tell anyone.
Barrett and A-Train are watching a demo video of A-Train's new "anthem". As A-Train walks away, Stormfront comes on set and the two of them look briefly at each other. Deep comes over and hugs A-Train, and says that he isn't there for any particular reason. He sympathizes with A-Train about being bounced from the Seven, and A-Train insists that his sponsors will help him keep going. Deep says that A-Train doesn't need "his" help, and A-Train wonders who he means. In response, Deep offers A-Train a Fresca from his backpack.
The Boys park outside the fence at Sage Grove, and Milk has confirmed it's a subsidiary of Vought. Milk, Frenchie, and Kimiko dress as orderlies, and Billy irritably tells her that they can't have her go in because someone might recognize her. She walks off, and Billy sarcastically tells Frenchie not to get caught.

Grace and her people capture Frenchie and his people during the bank robbery, She questions him in an interrogation room where he's locked up, and tells him that she knows all about the weapons he's rigged against Supes. Grace tells him to go to prison or work for her, and Frenchie refuses. She says that it's a pity for his accomplices, because they'll go to prison unless he cooperates. Frenchie reluctantly gives in.
Now
On the set, Homelander invites Stormfront into his trailer, but she tells him she has to go to the Tower and will be back in twenty minutes. Inside his trailer, Homelander looks irritably around, waiting.
At Sage Grove, Billy sets up a sniper post on top of the van. He watches Annie break in through the fence using her powers, letting the other three in. Billy draws a bead on her, but doesn't shoot.
Inside the facility, Milk and the others and Frenchie tells Kimiko to get on a gurney. She motions to him to do so instead, and he reluctantly does so. Milk and Kimiko wheel the gurney further into the facility.
Annie returns to the van, and she wonders what Billy's problem is with her. He insists that he doesn't have a problem with her, but Annie doesn't believe it. Annie points out that he hates all Supes, including her, and says that he's a bigot and a bully just like Homelander. Before Billy can respond, Stormfront flies down inside the facility fence and goes inside, and Billy tells Hughie to call the others.
Milk convinces the security guard to let them into the command center, saying that Frenchie is a patient that needs help. Once the guard opens the door, Frenchie shoots him unconscious and the trio go into the center, lock the door behind them, and disable the security camera. Milk checks the monitors and sees all of the imprisoned Supes, and they wonder if Vought is making more Supe terrorists. Kimiko sees one Supe that looks like her brother, and they see Stormfront and an orderly enter the cell of one prisoner\, Tim.
Kimiko stares at her brother's killer in shock, and Milk assures her that she's okay. The orderly looks familiar to Milk, and Frenchie insists it couldn't be the man they think it is. Meanwhile, Stormfront confirms that Tim has no side effects. Tim asks if he can go home so he can see his family, and Stormfront points out that he was admitted to the facility because he's suicidal. She finally says that they'll work something out, and she leaves with the orderly closes the door behind her and flips a lighter. He then uses the flame from it to incinerate Tim, and Frenchie realizes that the orderly is Lamplighter. Frenchie wants to shoot him dead, but Milk stops him and says that first they have to find out what's going on in the facility.
Frenchie calms down and the trio load the gurney up with equipment. Hughie reaches Milk and tells him that Stormfront is there, as she flies off. Frenchie gets back on the gurney, and Milk and Kimiko wheel him out. They pass Lamplighter, who recognizes Frenchie. As he goes for his lighter, Frenchie goes for his gun and jumps Lamplighter, knocking his fire blast aside and draws on him.
The alarms go off from the fire, and a woman, Cindy, comes out of her cell through the door the fire blast went through. Lamplighter tells her to be cool, asking if she knows that he likes her. As Cindy wonders who the trio is, a guard comes out and shoots her in the back. The bullets don't penetrate her skin, and Cindy causes the guard to explode with a gesture. Lamplighter and the trio run, and Cindy breaks open the doors of the other cells.
The group run back to the center and Lamplighter threatens to burn Frenchie if he doesn't stay back. Outside, a guard pounds at the door window and then Cindy kills him. Milk sees the devastation on the monitors as the released prisoners kill the staff. He then tells Lamplighter that Kimiko is a Supe and all he'll do is piss her off if he tries to kill her. Lamplighter says that the facility is in lockdown and the only access code is at the front door. Milk insists that Lamplighter will need their help to get there, particularly Kimiko's, but Lamplighter says that he'll take his chances.
A Supe breaks in and spews acidic bile on Lamplighter. Kimiko takes the Supe down, and he spews bile on his own face, killing himself. Lamplighter agrees to let the trio come with him.
Hughie sees the breakout through binoculars, and Billy tries and fails to reach the others by phone. One prisoner gets out and comes up, and Billy tries to calm him down. He releases a blast of concussive energy, knocking Billy and Annie back and the van as well. Billy shoots the prisoner dead, then goes to the van with Annie to check on Hughie, who was inside. Hughie has a piece of glass in his abdomen, and passes out from shock. Billy asks Annie to cauterize the wound, but she hasn't absorbed power recently and can't do it. They pick Hughie up to take him to a hospital, and Billy tells Annie that the others are on their own.
Homelander waits for Stormfront to return and counts the minutes. A few minutes later, Homelander stands above the set he devastated. Stormfront arrives and he claims that an electrical fire destroyed his trailer. She apologizes for her meeting running long, and wonders if something is wrong. Homelander wonders why anything would be wrong, and tells her that he went to the Tower and she wasn't there. He takes her by the throat and says that she doesn't need to explain anything to him, and leaves off.
At a Church renewal centre, Alastair, Deep, and A-Train are having lunch at a dining table. Alastair says that Deep's numbers with women are picking up, and asks what is on their mind. Deep accuses A-Train of sabotaging his career, but now he wants to feel clean. A-Train wants to go, saying the Church isn't his scene, and Alastair asks him if he has the luxury of leaving given his heart condition and debt. He says that the Church knows all kinds of things, including how to be discrete, and says that Vought will make Shockwave the new A-Train. The leader says that he can get A-Train back into the Seven, but first A-Train has to set down and let Deep tell him his "truths". After a moment, A-Train sits down.
At the facility, Lamplighter leads the trio to a lab. They lock the door behind them, and Milk asks Lamplighter why Vought is doing people with V and then having Lamplighter kill them. Lamplighter tells Frenchie that he asks why he didn't stop him from torching the kids, and Milk holds Frenchie back as Frenchie angrily charges at Lamplighter.
Five Years Ago
Milk shows Frenchie the engagement ring he plans to give to his wife-to-be. He says that the woman is the one, as Grace and Billy look on. Grace congratulates Milk, who says that he's going to go on a golf trip. Lamplighter arrives and the Boys snicker at him. They finally tell him that he looks like a majorette, and Grace checks her blackmail photos and then tells Lamplighter that he's going to tell them everything he sees and hears at the Tower. Grace tells Lamplighter that he has no choice and gives him her card, and Lamplighter angrily leaves. Billy figures that they "own" Lamplighter, and Grace tells Frenchie to follow Lamplighter.
Now
On the nearby highway, Annie hails down a passing car. When it stops, the driver Dennis asks what the trouble is. Annie tells him that she needs him to get out of his car. Billy brings Hughie out onto the road, says that he's FBI, and they're commandeering Dennis' car. When Dennis refuses to give them his car, Billy accepts and starts to take Hughie away. Hughie moans in pain, and Billy starts to draw his gun. Dennis takes his gun out of his car and aims it at them, and Billy advances on Dennis. Annie tries to defuse the situation, and then absorbs the energy from the car battery to blast Dennis down. She confirms that he's dead, and complains to Billy that he wouldn't stay back. Billy tells Annie to cauterize Hughie's wound. Annie does so but Billy warns that it won't hold long. They get into the car and Billy drives for the hospital.
Frenchie grabs some drugs to make a knockout bomb for Supes, then asks Lamplighter why they're still alive. He wonders why Lamplighter and Homelander never came for the Boys, and Lamplighter tells them that they're nobodies who aren't worth it. Frenchie figures that Lamplighter never told Homelander what he did, and says that he murdered innocent children. Lamplighter angrily says that he didn't know Grace's children were going to be in the bed, and thought it was supposed to be Grace. He didn't know it was children until they started screaming, and then it was too late.
Milk wonders if they're supposed to feel bad, and Lamplighter tells Frenchie that he saw Frenchie following him and then disappeared. He keeps asking himself why Frenchie didn't stop him, and Milk echoes the question.
Five Years Ago
Frenchie is following Lamplighter to a party and gets a call from Cherie. She says that Jay has OD'd, and she wants Frenchie to come help. She hangs up before Frenchie can object, and he reluctantly goes. At the apartment, Frenchie tries to revive Jay and finally succeeds. He goes to check on Lamplighter, and she accuses Frenchie of not caring about them.
Now
Annie tells Billy that Hughie is burning up with fever. Billy thanks Annie for what she did for Hughie, and Annie says that she might have cried over Dennis once. Now she considered him someone in their way, and then tells Billy that she doesn't want his approval. Annie insists that they're nothing alike, and Billy just drives in silence.
In the facility lab, Frenchie mixes his knockout bomb. Lamplighter says that the people there are rest subjects and Vought is trying to stabilize the V so anybody who gets it gets a solid power. Milk wonders why, and Lamplighter says that they don't tell him why but just make him burn the evidence. Frenchie explains that he left Lamplighter five years ago to save his friend Jay, and when he came back Lamplighter was gone. Jay died a few months later of another OD, and he didn't tell the Boys because it wouldn't have made a difference. Frenchie says that he didn't want to be let off the hook for what he did.
One of the Supes, Love Sausage, breaks through the lab door window with his member and grabs Milk by the throat. As Kimiko runs out in the hallway, Frenchie manages to pry the member off of Milk and Love Sausage retracts it. They find Love Sausage lying unconscious in the hallway outside
The group head for the front door and come to Cindy. They duck into a side corridor before she can see them, and Frenchie tosses the knockout bomb out. Cindy crushes it before it can affect her, but before she can advance on them, Stormfront comes in and shocks Cindy unconscious\. She calls Lamplighter out, and he steps out without giving the Boys' presence away. Stormfront demands to know what happened, and Lamplighter claims that Cindy got loose and freed some of the other prisoners. She tells Lamplighter to clean up the mess while she checks to see if any other prisoners got loose.
Billy and Annie take Hughie to the nearest hospital and the doctors do what they can for him. They say that Hughie should be all right after a couple of days, and Annie tells Billy that they'll have to risk staying there. She talks about Hughie's shampoo with Billy, and they jokingly talk about Hughie's hygiene. Annie admits that Hughie never gives up on someone, and says that Hughie is too good for either of them.
At the Tower at Maeve's apartment, Elena finds the camera from the plane. She plays the video and sees Homelander and Maeve abandon the passengers. Maeve comes in and sees what Elena is seeing, and says that she's going to show it to Homelander and use it to blackmail him into leaving them alone. She insists that it's their out, and says that she was scared. Maeve admits that she should have stood up to Homelander, and Elena glares at her.
The trio get out of the facility in a stolen ambulance and call Billy, and confirm that Hughie is okay. Frenchie tells Kimiko that for a long time he was trying to save her because he thought it would make up for the things he did. He figures Kimiko can't absolve his sins, so he'll leave her alone.
Grace pulls up in a SUV and asks where Frenchie is. He tells her that he figured he wasn't welcome at the funeral, but she doesn't care and demands they take her to Lamplighter, who is in the back of the ambulance. Grace draws a gun on him, and Lamplighter suggests that they both be done with the deaths. He tells her that he knows what she has to do, and she'd be doing him a favor. Frenchie speaks up and begs for Lamplighter's life, saying that it won't help Grace and she'll just be ending Lamplighter's torment. Grace lowers her gun and wonders what Frenchie is proposing they do with Lamplighter.
Stormfront joins Homelander in her apartment, and he refuses to hear her apology. She says that she'll tell him everything from now on, and shows him a photo of her and an elderly woman. Stormfront explains that the woman is her daughter, Chloe, who died of Alzheimer's a few years ago. She says that she was born in 1919 in Berlin, and she was with Himmler and Goebbels. The most important man in the room was Frederick Vought, who married her. He gave Stormfront the first successful V injection, and then they fell in love and Frederick gave her a daughter. His genius later made Homelander.
Homelander walks away, and Stormfront says that they're in a war for the culture. The other races are grinding them down, but they can fight back with an army of Supes. Stormfront tells Homelander that he'll lead them, and he's everything that they dreamed of. That's why Stormfront loves him, and now neither of them have to be alone ever again. After a moment, Homelander kisses her.
