I've rewatched the series over a few nights, for the first time since they were originally transmitted, the first two I really enjoyed, the second in particular, but this third offering was poor in comparison, the plot was messy, the links to Brian were tenuous at best, it all held together on a very thin thread. Matthew Kelly dazzled in the first two, but was let down by poor writing here, Pauline Quirke was excellent I think, and made it watchable. It was well acted, well produced, but hard to follow, it felt like they were trying to milk the first two for all they were worth.
