Much better than all the other expedition/unearthed/unexpected/mystery/oakisland/history nonsense. Give it a try...

One of the best documentary / discovery shows today....
ozz11214 November 2021
It's one of the best because almost every other show regurgitates already known information. This show uses already known information as a base and then does *ORIGINAL* exploration or research that has never been seen before. I've loved every episode and hope it continues.

Scripted waste of time
bobtomlin-9949225 December 2020
Of course. Take my time to not find any. At least the Curse of Oak Island is not scripted. It sucks.

Great series.

Warning: Spoilers
I love mysteries. Either real or imaginary. The series is well done. The episodes, writing, etc. Laurence Fishburne is excellent. I hope they have episodes about the Loch Ness Monster, the Great Lakes Triangle, the disappearance of the English frogmen Buster Crabbe, etc.

One of the best history channel documentaries in years
davidaempatton-274615 March 2023
I've seen a couple of episodes and it's really good. They talk about topics that most people have either never heard of or topics that you've heard of but with other information or theories about the topic. Keep up the good work I hope they make more episodes about neat topics. The episode they did on the lost colony of Roanoke was neat. I grew up in Virginia so I learned about the lost colony of Roanoke in school so it was a good refresher but I did learn a little more information. Can't wait for more great episodes keep it up. I love seeing really good documentaries on the history channel!!!

should be called Historys greatest waste of time.
Darthkopite7118 January 2021
So the theme for these types of shows is to reveal nothing, update nothing, and use millions of pounds worth of equipment with no end result. All this show does is make so called experts look ridiculous.During lockdown ive watched various shows and ill list them before saying what they have in common. 1 -History's Greatest Mysteries-worst of all?? 2 -lost gold of ww2 3 - Curse of oak island 4 - Curse civil war gold 5 - Lost Gold of ww2 All these shows spends millions and have "experts" that find nothing ,change nothing incluing history. There are some show id say worth watching below:

America Unearthed -Scott F. Wolter. On a different level .Hunting Hitler Mission Declassified ALCATRAZ: SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH

Informative and interesting
dpegley-4696427 April 2022
I can't believe all the negative reviews. I wonder if they have the attention span or desire for knowledge to absorb the information. I find this show captivating. A summary of past findings, followed by new info and possible breakthroughs. Excellent television in my opinion. And Laurence Fishburne is the perfect narrator.

Took interesting mysteries and made them boring
m-ward11 December 2020
Usually, I don't leave a review if I don't like a show. And this show isn't so bad that it made me leave a negative review... It just seems like it didn't really try very hard.

I watched the first 4 episodes. I usually love shows like this and have watched many of them. But, as others have said, this show offers nothing new. And, more importantly, it finds a way to make the rehashed subjects less interesting.

This is a great show, but I wish they would do one on the Johnstown flood!!!
wfreeburn-707902 December 2022
Johnstown has had four major floods. But why did the one on Memorial day 1889 claim about three thousand live. I have to start out saying that I lost five members of my family in this one, and non in the other three! Why? Because Andrew Canegee and his chums built the domn upriver from Johnstown 30 feet higher then the original lake while spending ZERO DOLLARS on cleaning out the spillway! Why is that important? If you clean the spillways out the water level in the lake will ease down to a reasonable level. But if not it grows as high as the dam is built too. Thus when his Hunting & Fishing club's lake broke that day the water level starting down the river was 95 foot high, as it passed thru the town where Charles Browson was born, and when it reached Johnstown is was still 45 foot high. Only two buildings, both made out of stone and mortal survived but all the rest of the buildings were crushed and driven down to the stone bridge where the gas lines ruptured thus killing more people fron burning to death that those which drowned. But Carnegee bought off procecution by funding an Art Gallery and a college in Pittsburgh! But I think everyone should know this story to prevent people from getting away with MURDER! Wm Freeburn.

So Far... 3 Servings of "Nothing Burger"
snl-1456230 November 2020
Growing up in SW Washington @ the time DB Cooper jumped, I had great interest in the first episode. 2 hrs later... They MAY have DNA... No REAL "new" discoveries.

Okay, interested in the Titanic... Same thing watch the Leo / Kate version, it gives most of the same info... other then some enlightenment on POSSIBLE rescue information that MAY have made a difference in the number of survivors.

Shipwreck in Antarctica... Well...That was another 2 hrs of watching a multi-million dollar bust...

If next week's on Booth doesn't bring to light any REAL new information... I'm done.

Can't believe it made it to TV
sipa_p20 November 2020
First episode has no substance whatsoever. The main investigator is an utter pseudo expert, has no relevant insights to share with the audience or people he interviews or works with. They come up with no interesting discoveries, total waste of time.

Interesting. But the episodes are too long and boring!
collectorofsorts18 December 2021
I just found this episode online and I'm working my way thru the first season. The episodes are just too long, boring and stretched out. Who came up with the 2 hour format? This series would be a 7-8 star at an hour. But 2 hours an episode? The stories are stretched out to the point of becoming boring. To me, a fair rating is in the 4-5 star range, depending on episodes. I feel like I'm being generous going with the higher number.

Complete rubbish
otterman6211 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I just wasted 2 hours watching an episode about the hunt for a Nazi U boat. To save you doing the same thing i can exclusively reveal that they didn't find it. In fact they didn't find anything. In fact i suspect that they couldn't find Mr Fishburnes backside using both hands.

Surely there should be some governance for programmes like this to show that they contain no discoveries or new information whatsoever.

Waste of Tine
BalderJensen22 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Crap! Absolutely waste of time! Eric Usli did not close the case, so it is not the final of the DB Cooper case. Why Laurence Fishburne is presenting this, is beyond me.

A steaming pile of monkey $hit
tinboski13 January 2021
There's no single episode or segment that gives you anything other than a sinking feeling of guilt and embarrassment that you wasted hours on this trash that never goes anywhere other than the deleted bin.

The worst letdown of conspiracy theory drivel.
jesper-455-590014 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Well, i hope Fishburne got paid well for this. It must've been even more boring for him to make than it was for us to watch.

Eight episodes of conspiracy theory drivel with claims of answers, that all turn out to be false.

I seem to remember a time when History Channel made good documentary type stuff.

Nothing to see here! Move along!
bcmatusz3 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Seriously. Nothing to see. I've watched most of season one and one episode of season two and it's all build up and zero pay off. DB Cooper? Nothing. HMS Endurance? Lost the sub. Roswell? Starts strong and the devolves into typical Roswell lore. Bermuda Triangle? Nothing found. John Wilkes Booth? Nope. Surprise! A bunch of people took his name!

They clearly spent a lot of time setting up the expeditions or investigations plus the production. And they had to show something for all that investment. The production value is high.

I was optimistic that they would finally rule out Roswell aliens. They guy running the investigation was solid. But in the third episode, all the ufo stuff seeped back in and it was left open ended ... again.

Total Garage
gg-8842417 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Once again a mystery which has no answer of what it is looking for which is to find the identity of DB Cooper. It's 2 hours of making up new leads and following the same old dead end leads. Lawrence Fishburne narrates this go nowhere program and is odviously only in it for the money along with Eric Ulis who is the investigator that supposedly spent and wasted 12 years studying and searching and making up DB Cooper leads. Really Lawrence don't you have any ethics of value. Total junk waste of time program. I have no clue how this program actually made it to air time.

Waste of time to watch.
rotpar-8622813 December 2020
This show has the worst editing team ever! The most drawn out waste of time I have given or wasted on history channel... They drag things out to the tenth degree, which turns out to be what you already knew. I don't see the show lasting beyond a second season.

Long and drawn-out waste of potential.
Galdhr7 June 2021
The episodes cover pretty much the amount of information that could've been presented in less than half the time, and most of it is jargon and repetition anyway.

The cherry on top is that in none of the episodes is anything really discovered or uncovered, excluding minor tidbits of information that you may have not known before, but which you can definitely live without knowing.

The only episode worth watching would be the one about Shackleton's lost ship, and that is only because of Sir Shackleton and his crew - their story is amazing. But if you're already familiar with their story - just skip the whole series.

Back ground music is over whelming.
chuckpoehner19 April 2022
Back ground music is so loud can't hear or understand what's being said. The music should be soft and subtle so you can hear the voice. Like the show but get pissed off trying to make out what's being said and just turn it off 😒.

Disappointing
georgechambless3 May 2022
"It's been suggested...some people believe...it could have been that..." Don't expect to learn much with this series. There's no new evidence provided. Mostly just a rehash of already known information and speculation by authors and 'experts'.

The topics can be interesting if you aren't familiar with them, but overall the show itself is a dud.
