INTERESTING AND REWARDING-Alternative To The Ubiquitous Shallow-Plot, Effects And Star Driven Films Of Hollywood
nan-2125 July 2014
The film is so strong, interesting and visually mesmerizing in so many ways that I am willing to forgive the flaws. It would be a shame to skip seeing this because of this imbalance. David H. Stevens, Andrea Lockhart, Sila Agavale put in strong performances. The script is stilted at times, but given the nonlinear/ vignette format/ unreliable narrator components make the interesting character development all the amazing.

This film is a VISUAL FEAST. Cinematography is unique, interesting and is worth watching the film on its own merit. The sets are sparse, but are almost another 'personality' in the film.

I think if the viewer goes in with an open mind and just let the movie 'take them for a ride' and don't let themselves get distracted trying to define and pigeonhole what they are watching it is a great experience. It becomes the kind of movie you want to keep going back to because it is multi-layered and one discovers that the characters are realistic.

David is not crazy schizoid but a regular guy dealing with life in a NOT SO UNCOMMON way if you think about it--to say more than that would be a 'spoiler' People are complex and writer/director, Joshua Tai Taeoalii, takes this and tries to creatively capture the essence of a what lies beneath the often banal surface of our very human existence.

If you have problems with insomnia, then this is the movie to watch, or should I say, to put you to sleep as long as Rip Van Winkle. It was absolutely excruciating getting through this sleeper. Extremely poor acting, no plot, no excitement whatsoever. If you could give this movie a negative rating, it would be a negative 10, hands down!! In all seriousness, I'd rather watch paint dry than watch this waste of film again. This has to be the absolute worst movie that I have ever viewed. The only reason why I finished watching this debacle of a movie was the fact that I was stupid enough to be one of the investors and I had to see where my money went. Might as well have gone down the highway, opened up my car window and threw my money out for what this movie is worth.

Odd movie....

This is quite strange.

The story itself had potential, but didn't come close.

The editing, scene setting cinematography is really good.

But the actors are horrible ....and I mean horrible. They seem like they are literally in a Los Angeles acting class playing the part in a daytime soap....cringy.

The clothing/costume selection set design are all out of place, nothing really jives together.

Yet...Todd Bridges, there you can SEE a good actor - sure he has had issues in adult life - but his acting ability is so far beyond the main characters.

I guess the only reason to watch this would be just to see the editing if you were want8ng to learn some good methods...but the story and being entertained....nope.
