Not as good as Prozaks films
tamtiltmann28 December 2020
I thoroughly enjoyed the movies over the years of the entire crew. The evidence found originally was phenomenal. Perhaps having watched all the movies the series doesn't seem as authentic. I loved seeing all the crew get in and investigate all areas but I have only watched the first episode maybe it will get better as I go along.

Realistic & Personable!
mpdpopo327 March 2020
I'm very pleased with this show. I like the way Steve approaches investigations. Research is key! Also, he has a no non-sense approach, no fancy equipment, straight and to the point. . looking forward to many more seasons!!

No drama ... perfect

If you liked Haunted Collector, this show reminds me of it. Look for a source of the haunting and then "remove" it. No over dramatic responses, seems more realistic.

The Best New Paranormal Show
StarryEyedGreen31 March 2020
Haunting in the Heartland, aside from Hometown Horror, is the best of the new paranormal programs on television. One way I gauge quality is level of boredom, and each episode is fascinating, well-organized, well-paced, and well-made.

The introduction provides a glimpse or a "hook" to reel you in. The music and photography helps create tension. The house history research is always interesting, and evidence is often compelling, the most of any investigative show. I notice that Shippy also uses the Geoport which I haven't noticed any other investigative group use.

A major strength of the HITH is that the investigator, Steve Shipping combines brains and heart, presenting a very capable and caring person and providing well researched histories of the haunted properties while offering emotional support to his clients and making sure their homes are cleansed of any malicious or negative spirits.

What happened
royeighmey15 March 2020
I've watched all of Shippys paranormal specials when I had Amazon Prime, and those were worth watching. Haunting in the Heartland is a far cry from those. Very little of actual investigating, just a bunch of interviews with people and a 5 minute walk through in the dark. I had high hopes for this, and I must say, I am truly disappointed.

Warning: Spoilers
The psychic medium, in the first episode is garbage, talks some random crap, makes a portal with her mind and a flashlight for the dark spirit of the episode to walk through, yeah right. xD. What a farce and utter disrespect to the skills of those who are the real deal.

I am a avid paranormal fan,, i have been looking for something realistic to watch as other stuff has the air of fakery,, i have watched the other series prozak has done which made me want to see this one,, unfortunately due to covid theres no more yet😞 love this because its not like other programs supernatural orientated,, cant wait for the rest to be available,, its good if you've seen the haunting saginaw series,, this series is like a revisit to eradicate the spirits,, there's much more detail so definitely real,, no doubt in my experience anyway,

Inauthentic Paranormal Investigations
courtneypedersen9 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I was looking forward to discovering a new ghost hunting series since my favorite is on hiatus right now. After watching all six episodes, I had a lot of problems with this show. Not only does it not truly show any investigation of a home but the "evidence" the main investigator gets happens way too quickly and way too often for me to believe these are "true" hauntings. Moreover, half of the houses he investigated he diagnosed as being haunted by a demon. I cannot understand shows that assume most if not all haunting are demons. I also don't understand not trying to debunk some of the experiences like other paranormal investigation shows do. Instead of trying to find a plausible explanation, this show either paints the haunting as a malevolent spirit or a demon. Furthermore, the episode where the couple claims the carpet wasn't replaced after a murder happened is unrealistic. Most times when there is a murder, the carpet will be taken for the investigation. Also, it's highly unlikely what the investigator was seeing on the walls with the black light was blood since it glowed orange. Typically Luminol is needed in addition with a black light to see blood and if Luminol isn't used, dried blood will show as black, not orange. The last episode seemed highly scripted too. I find it convenient the house he's investigating is inhabited by a man whose brother is also a paranormal investigator but he didn't feel comfortable investigating the house. They also set it up from the beginning to make sure people suspected the haunting was because the man moved into the house and the man later explained he played on Oujia board one time and felt like something attached to him. He then said he knew it was a demon and gave the name. Oh! And this demon just happened to be a well known demon which was pointed out by the investigator! And even though the investigator said the demon was very powerful and would be difficult to get rid of, all the man needed to do was say a prayer and boom! It was done, the demon was gone. That was another thing I disliked about this show, every time he proclaimed it was a demon it just so happened a Ouija board may have been used. I would've give this show a one star rating if not for the fact he at least tries to help cleanse the house of the haunting so the people feel comfortable in their own home again.

Right phenomena wrong interpretation
joshnoon2 August 2020
I just wish the "psychics&investigators" would stop clinging to the old Victorian notion that ghosts are dead people's spirits. That's such an unsatisfactory explanation for what is more likely a multiversal dimensional phenomena based on quantum physics.

Distracted by the terrible background sounds.
sakbrat14 November 2020
I really wanted to watch this. But the background sounds and music is far too forced and annoying. It seemed to take over the entire show. It was constant and was competing with the narration and interviews. The person who was in charge of sound needs to ho back to school and learn what less is more means.
