Catch the Bored
BOOKSMART127 September 2021
Catch the Bullet is an American Western action film about a U. S. Marshal who discovers his son has been kidnapped by outlaws. The plot is extremely predictable and directed without any flair or hint of interest in what's happening. Instead of catching the bullet you should dodge the bullet and watch something else.

Would not recommend this movie to anyone. Total waste of six bucks. It completely sucks. The houses are modern day, there are electric lights that they don't even try to hide, blinds in the windows modern furniture, the scalped man had ketchup on a bald head. It was awful.

Save your money

I wish poor acting was the only thing wrong with this movie! The producers dropped the ball one a scene with a ranch with full power and french doors. Also has mini blinds! Didn't realize this period of time of cowboys and Indians had such perks!!

Catch a Different Western
jeroduptown11 February 2022
Worst western I've ever seen. Flat characters that can't even hold a gun correctly...horrible sound effects and a modern house that pops out of nowhere. Terrible.

Bad Bad Bad, Just Bad
kissmyasthma-9559810 September 2021
In an online article, Michael Feifer said "we need more westerns". After watching this abomination I have to agree. However, he forgot to mention the other things this movie needs. Such as, a good script, better screenplay, better actors, and most of all a better director. This had to be written by a 3rd grader who read way too many dime novels. The actors must have been picked off the back lot and worked for minimum wage. The FX crew had to be recent graduates or still in school. The sound crew had to be using cell phones. The entire movie is just awful. Tom Skerritt must be in dire need of money, either that or he just can't get work. Unless you can watch for free like I do, SAVE YOUR MONEY! This trash is just bad, bad, bad, just bad.

Save your money and your time and rewatch an actual western you've already seen. I never review movies and man I just had to warn people to save themselves the time...I could have made a better western just terrible.

Poor example of a Western

I was really looking forward to enjoying this movie. It was so poorly done that we felt we wasted our time.

The first 5 minutes tells you everything
Xavier_Stone9 October 2021
This is just a FYI for all the wannabe directors and movie producers out there. If you do not have enough money for $200 professional squibs that explode on impact, do not have gun fights. Simple. Even in the 80's Dirty Harry had more believable shooting scenes. The lame slo-mo and the gun fights were no better than a high school drama production.

Ok, I can overlook a few things, lets move on to the dialogue. Just painful, every actor is incredibly bad.

1 star for the scenery, which I get to see over and over and over again. I think people could purposely try to make a bad movie and it wouldn't be this bad. Asylum movies are better.

Where to start? Bad
valenciadave12 September 2021
It's not often I agree with so many reviews. Right away I noticed the brand new spotless clothes and holsters. And bad acting. I figured I could put up with that if it had a great story - nope. Instead of sympathy for the kidnapped kid I thought he was annoying. Weak script, cliches. Hard not to laugh during a a dramatic dying scene. Very modern doors and architecture on an old west house.

This movie is SO BAD!! CRINGEWORTHY
CWhiteflower12 September 2021
This is the WORST movie ever. It's insulting to call this abomination a western. Cowboys and Indians everywhere should be insulted. This movie was SO PAINFUL to watch. The acting is CRINGEWORTHY--especially the inept guy playing the "native" tracker. The wardrobe was ridiculous-from the absurd Halloween costumes adoring the "Sioux warriors", to the Walmart clothes, to the white-top modern cowboy boots on Chaska-looks like all the cast members had to bring their own wardrobe. The FX's are juvenile. The riding scene (upper body only) between the 2 characters was SO FAKE and ridiculous-the scene could have been shot better using a iPhone and selfie stick. The dialogue, storyline, writing, and stunts are HORRIBLE. Set Designers (if there were any) should be shot-since when does a Wyoming western ranch house in the late 1800's have white PVC windows, doors and concrete cylinder deck footings? And what is with all the REAL chipped, cracked, and missing teeth on all the native characters? DO NOT waste your time or money watching this terrible movie!

The Sharknato of westerns
dan-961-22438711 September 2021
This maybe the worst $6.99 I've ever spent and I own a slapchop! All the Costumes look brand new, some characters wear the same shirts. Were they Walmart bulk buys? The acting is so bad! Like really were they trying to make it bad? Cause I'm sure I could do better. The writing worse! The scene the are talking while, they are suppose to be riding horses, they are all rocking side to side. If you have ever rode a horse, you know these guys haven't. Reminds me of the seadoo scene in sharknato, were they trying to look fake? Lol! Also the old west had some nice PVC French doors on that frontier home. Tom Skeritt was smart to die in the first 10 minutes. The special reflects eye blood is extra great! Some how dude can leak blood from his eye for half the movie and never get a drop on his ivory scarf, can you say budget constraints! Maybe they spend to much on Tom?

It's not that bad like the ratings states. Sure, the actors were Hollywood elite, but it was entertaining. I'll recommend especially to take in some great scenery in digital format.

I must have watched a different movie than the people who gave this movie a low rating.
mrfreeze-581229 June 2023
I didn't think this movie was that bad, I watched the movie from begining to end and thought the movie was entertaing and I certainly never thought about turning it off. I don't know what the people who thought this movie was bad were expecting, maybe they were comparing it to John Wayne western movie. The only thing I thought was strange was it looked like the two boys were wearing lip stick in the movie as there lips were so red. It would have been nice to see some females in the movie as it was only men but that is my only small complaint. It wouldn't have cost very much for production as there are no extras and no studio sets or dangerous stunts like in a lot of western movies.

cebisamhlaba13 September 2021
I had to register an account and write my very first review of a movie, a stage act by primary school kids would be a better waste of my time than this abomination.

I wish I could give it zero stars.
morronrojo16 September 2021
I never wrote a bad review of a movie. If I didn't like the movie, I just didn't do anything about it. However this time I felt the need to write that it is the worst movie I have ever seen. Bad in all respects.

Bad acting, bad story, bad characters, bad casting, bad handling of cameras etc, the first scene is the only one decently filmed.

The worst western I have ever seen
johnhdavison9 March 2022
The worst western I have ever seen The acting is wooden. The plot is unbelievable and the director. Editor and screen writer should have been shot. You would think the dialogue was written by primary school children. Btw. Love the modern house with Venetian blinds ( 1 hour 3 mins in). It really fits into a " classic " western where all the other dwellings ( log cabins etc) are more suited. Do not waste you time watching this crap.

My opinion 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
theoklahomabadlands_20021 October 2021
This film is not going to get great ratings because there are so many things that have been pointed out and the Director should Never allowed these things if you wanted to make a great western. I saw things with wardrobe, special effects, the young actor needed better lines. I saw the riding and Chaska rode well carrying weapons and on a run is hard but he is seasoned in that because I've seen nearly 20 movies with his riding ability and he was raised on a ranch in Wy. And he can ride bareback and in the saddle very very well. The corny responses at times was heard, and they used the saying "Catch the Bullet" too much!!! The props and ranch house and curtains etc was really bad. The Director should have made those changes immediately! The makeup and wardrobe needs major changes. People keep talking about Sioux country and Chaska and The Marshall said he was Pawnee?!! The film looked rushed in my opinion. An Indian scout would not be out riding in the open either, he was a tracker so that should have been changed. Now, I feel that people did not need to come on here posting things like they made fun of the movie and laughed at the things they saw with it!! I have just stated things I criticized but with good intent so they know what could have been done differently. And some people be had legitimate critiques but it doesn't have to be hateful!! The sad part of all this is Jay Pickett made his final journey and we lost an Actor who enjoyed what he did. Peace & comfort to his family<<>><<>> I feel that Chaska and The Marshall delivered their lines the best for the script they had.!! For filming in a pandemic I'm going to give it 10 stars !!

An Above-Average Horse Opera with Gorgeous Scenery
zardoz-132 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Director Michael Feifer's third western shoot'em up "Catch The Bullet," starring Jay Pickett, Peter Facinelli, and Tom Skerritt, shares something in common with his two earlier horse operas "A Soldier's Revenge" (2020) and "Wyatt Earp's Revenge" (2012). Feifer filmed all three on location in scenic wide-open spaces that clearly reflect his reverence for this untamed frontier. Watching the breathtaking landscape sweep beneath us as lenser Hank Baumert Jr.'s camera drones cruise above the sprawling mosaic of mountains, deserts, and streams enhances not only the epic splendor of this western, but it also dwarfs the horsemen threading through it. Specifically, Feifer shot "Catch The Bullet" at the TA Guest Ranch in Buffalo, Wyoming. If you're searching for a vacation destination that would plunge you into the past, the TA Guest Ranch seems perfect. Historically, this venerable ranch lay within the arena of the notorious Johnson County Cattle Wars of 1889-1893. If you've seen either the Steve McQueen western "Tom Horn" (1980) or "Heaven's Gate" (1980) with Kris Kristofferson & Christopher Walken, you'll appreciate these larger-than-life locales. Reportedly, the wooden buildings still boast bullet holes from gunfights in that classic struggle. Primarily, these austere Wyoming settings provide "Catch The Bullet" with an authenticity no Hollywood backlot could duplicate. Westerns always seem more exciting when the good guys lick the bad guys in a grandiose setting that appeals as much to the eye as the imagination. While freshman writer Jerry Robbins' saga about the kidnapping of a veteran lawman's son by one of his enemies is hopelessly saddle-sore, the rugged, weather-beaten cast and the gritty dialogue they snarl strengthens this above-average, R-rated, 88-minute opus.

A serious-minded sagebrusher from fade in to fadeout, "Catch The Bullet" shuns comic relief and shows no compunction about killing off key characters. Feifer gets us in the mood with a showdown in a stable. Our grim, duty-sworn protagonist, U. S. Marshal Britt MacMasters (Jay Pickett of "Soda Springs"), corners three gimlet-eyed bank robbers at their ranch and blasts them out of their boots. Feifer tries to imitate Sam Peckinpah, but his gunfight reminded me more of "Gunsmoke." Nevertheless, our hero establishes his proficiency with firearms. MacMasters spent three months tracking down these dastards. Later, when he pursues his new quarry, this no-nonsense tin star acts as if he has a seventh sense when an assailant tries to shoot him in the back. Meantime, at MacMasters' own ranch, another confrontation unfolds between his elderly father Dex (Tom Skerritt of "Top Gun") and six desperadoes. The leader of the gang, Jed Blake (Gattlin Griffith of "Green Lantern"), sweated out five years in prison because of MacMasters. Now, Jed has broken out of prison and vows to kill the marshal. A brief gunfight erupts, and Britt's father kills one of the six ruffians but takes a slug in the shoulder. Jeb abducts the marshal's twelve-year-old son, Chad (Mason McNulty of "Assimilate"), and then shoots Chad's playmate Albert Hansen (Ryder Kozisek) in cold blood. This brutal act of murder evokes memories of Sergio Leone's masterpiece "Once Upon A Time in the West" (1968) when Henry Fonda gunned down a youngster. Earlier, Chad had whined to Albert about his prodigal father who let his lawman's duties supersede his role as a single parent. Jed and company thunder off with Chad stumbling in their dust at the end of a rope.

Basically, "Catch The Bullet" boils down to a father & son western. Naturally, when MacMasters learns about Jed, he tells Dex he'll find Chad. Interestingly, Jed left no message for the marshal about his intentions. Before MacMasters saddles up, Sheriff Wilkins (Peter Facinelli of "Twilight") insists his greenhorn deputy, Tucker (Callder Griffith of "Miracle in the Valley"), ride with him. Wilkins wanted to accompany MacMasters, but the marshal convinced him to stay behind. He fears Jed may circle back. Meantime, MacMasters recruits a savvy, half-breed Pawnee, Chaska (Cody Jones of "Hired Gun"), with a devastating reputation as a scout.

Feifer and writer Jerry Robbins pad out the running time with a bullet-riddled melee that pits both heroes and villains against bloodthirsty Sioux Indians. Predictably, the Sioux are angry because settlers have trespassed on their land. Not surprisingly, the Sioux-depicted as pugnacious phantoms in animal skins-suffer annihilation when Britt and Chaska unleash their firepower. By this time, Jed's hostage plot takes a bizarre turn. Chad infuriates Jed with two escape attempts. Incidentally, "Catch The Bullet" reminded me of O'Henry's classic tale "The Ransom of Red Chief," in the July 6, 1907, issue of The Saturday Evening Post magazine. In this short story, two crooks kidnap a child who turns out to be their worst nightmare. During one foiled escape attempt, Chad knocks Jed aside, and the outlaw smashes his face on a rock. This kind of hilarity undermines the villain and makes him look like a buffoon.

Generally, "Catch The Bullet" emerges as a tragic, but violent horse opera with a clench-jawed cast, superb production values, and impressive scenery. The outfits, firearms, and leather goods are particularly period friendly. Jay Pickett makes a convincing lawman who lost his wife in a tragic accident involving a stand-off with outlaws at a nearby ranch. This bitter memory keeps Britt away from his own ranch and his estranged father and son. Inevitably, father & son will reunite and reconcile themselves. Inexplicably, Feifer relegates both Peter Facinelli and Tom Skerritt to pitiful bit parts. Veteran lenser Hank Baumert Jr. Makes "Catch The Bullet" look striking, and the TA Guest Ranch is on my bucket list. The only drawback to the stunning aerial cinematography is the telltale tire tracks the filmmakers' equipment made that show up in the aerial shots. Presumably, Feifer and company hoped spectators would pardon them for this anachronism.

Worst Western ever
valleydraindocter21 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I've seen most all John Wayne, Clint Eastwood western movies and many many more. This has too be the worst one I've ever seen. You'd think with all that technology even western movies would be better but nope. As I've always believed the best westerns are the oldest westerns. Even I know a revolver holds 6 bullets max. Not 18 bullets. (I counted, last fight seen) Indian outfits were terrible and they all looked like teenagers except the old man who stabbed the kid. An Bratt shooting his own wife, she wasn't even holding a gun I mean seriously. There's so much I can keep going. It was ridiculous. I hate myself for wasting two hours of my life, keep the $5.99 just give me two hours of my life back to watch a John Wayne movie.

Bottom line, this movie is terrible 👎🏾
shirleyls-776134 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I've read the reviews and I agree, the movie was pretty bad. Most of the actors were pretty rough around the edge. The mix of accredited actors did not help this movie, but those familiar faces did get me to watch. First, the sheriff rolls up on three outlaws and they let him just walk up?! The long haired dude doesn't have a gun? That's crazy!! Three outlaws and one lawman, but all three outlaws die -yeah right!! 😳

Who gets off their horse in a dangerous place to have a sip of water? He should've been killed. That was just ignorant! The eye on the rock scene was poorly shot or edited or both. The main villain was not the best actor - or maybe the script was poorly written or both 😂.

Never saw the Indians up close. Were they really Native Americans?

I would be highly upset if I had paid to see this movie. I would like to have that 1:28:56 back. I don't like to be negative. Bottom line, the movie was terrible.

The worst movie I have ever seen in a theater
leaschilling12 September 2021
I took my teenage boys to this and within 10 minutes it was obvious we had chosen a "B" movie. I didn't think that was possible in the theater! The acting was terrible and fight scenes all seems so fake. Even the horse back riding, when zoomed in looked like the characters were just moving there bodies up and down. The storyline idea could have been okay but there was no time developing it. The plot just jumped right into the Marshall's son being kidnapped. At the time we didn't know who or why. Anyway all the people in the theater started making fun and laughing at the movie with us which was entertaining.
