JUST LOVE THIS EPISODE !

I liked it

After the last episode this one was indeed refreshing, even if the plot was a bit thin. A whole episode with Reddington - marvellous. No Liz - wonderful. Previous reviewers have complained that there is not enough of Reddington and then when we do have a full episode of just him - they complain. Enough. Still the best show on the box and I have watched from the beginning.
Yay for more Mr Spader!

The best episode ever

I have just got to say that this was the best episode of The Blacklist ever. Raymond Reddington, and it was all about it. I didn't miss the others at all. And I truly enjoyed how Raymond suddenly turned into Hercule Poirot, solving a crime all on his own and all the rest. If they doubled the play-time, this could have been a stand-alone movie! :)

And Then There Were Two...Sort Of

Dembe drops Red off on an island in what is obviously a frigid climate. There he is to meed a host, and four others who are to put their Russian caskets together and decide on a price for their sale. But like Agatha Christie, one of them becomes greatly ill and dies. Soon others meet similar fates. But there are forces on the island, Turkish agents. It's a good episode because for once there are no outside forces to muddy things up. We do get a look at Reddington's past romantic partner who runs the island. We also get some quite serious methods of killing. This is a pretty good episode. Of course, Reddington is drawn back to his own world and own rules.
Blacklist 712

This Blacklist episode was most certainly a unique one, which included some call backs to Katarina and Reddingtons 'Cape-May' episode a few seasons ago...
At times I had my back at the edge of my seat, at others, I was waiting for the scene to finish. The structure of the episode was very poor, it would have been nice to see other cast members portrayed throughout rather than having the island without a cut break for 35 minutes.
I liked the 'Killing Strangers' shootout/fight sequence it was a very well done scene... The overall Blacklister was a bit boring.
There was a good ending to the episode with some of the task force there for Liz... I liked the ending with Red and liz, but I wish Liz introduced Red to Agnes it would have been nice (it would have showed Liz cares for Red, rather than just saying it)
One more point to make... where was Victoria Fenberg.... I think it would have been resonable to resolve that plot in the last few minutes before the ballet scene... Further it would have been nice to see Red pop into Ilya and check how he is right before the Ballet scene, but now I am pushing it with things they could have included... :) Overall an ok episode, worth the watch

Great episode destroyed by Keen/Boone
nemesis-8830 March 2020
I wanted to give this episode a good firm 8, with 2 points down for WAY too complex gun/knife fighting and pretty unimpressive adversary. It still felt amazing with JUST Reddington. No last boyscout Ressler, no suddenly lecherous Aram, no self-righteous Cooper, and, THANK YOU, no village-fool Keen; just "horrible" Reddington and faithful Dembe. What more can we ask from this show!!! But then... Keen/Boone appears for the shortest of moments only to say an incredible banality and destroy the finally positive impressions from this episode. WHY!?!?!?!
This show is going no where sooner

So we are playing the same game, half season lez against him and the other half with him. I'm sick of this. We already half the way throw the season and no mysteries were revealed. This show is going no where sooner.
Basic

Everything that happens in this episode has been done better by another show. It just seems like the writers want to copy some ideas, or had ideas in mind that they weren't clever enough to execute well.
The action scenes are a poorly made music video and the villain is a complete joke. Half of the dialogue is exposition, we get some irrelevant backstory, racial stereotype characters and by the end of the episode nothing of value happens. You might have as well skipped this one and missed nothing.
Plot is going nowhere, considering that the show was supposed to end after season 7 and got extended for another season for no apparent reason.
No Elizabeth, though, so that's where my 2 score comes from.
And for the love of God, find an actual Eastern European to play Russian characters, it's so, so bad watching an american guy bumble his way through a horrible fake accent.

Same old "Who done it" theme
danstout29 March 2020
This OLD theme has been done to death. There are even OLD board games available with this theme. NO imagination or creativity at all. AND it had absolutely nothing to do with the 2 overall themes of the show: Who is the real Red Redington, and Katarina's involvement in everything. A very bad and boring episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Extremely pointless and quite boring. The plot was supposed to resemble Agatha Christie, I suppose. While, actually, it was probably a test how the audience would respond to the series without Elisabeth. As much as I like James Spider (and he's my main reason for watching), this was just an example of bad writing and trying to keep the show alive at all costs. If your pilot episode starts with the question about their relationship and you go on for ages with revealing their secrets, you can't, after all this time, all of a sudden go - "nah, don't wanna talk about it anymore, let's meet some new people and try something else."
