Whether you’re a long-time extraterrestrial enthusiast, your interest has been piqued now that the U.S. government is actually taking UFOs seriously, or you’re just bummed that you missed William Shatner at AlienCon, this list is for you. From historical deep dives into America’s secret alien exploration like “Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation,” to a factually-inspired narrative around real phenomena like “Project Blue Book,” here are all the noteworthy TV shows from over the years that believe in aliens. “Ancient Aliens” The alien show to end all alien shows, this History Channel classic has been on the air since 2009 and is still going strong. In that time, it’s produced 157 episodes and birthed a well-known meme — a wild-haired and slightly orange Giorgio A. Tsoukalos throwing up his hands during a passionate explanation of an extraterrestrial theory.

Though Steve McQueen‘s latest film debuted less than three weeks ago, it feels safe to say that we now live in a post-12 Years a Slave era. The black British director, a descendant of Caribbean slaves, put forth a vision of “the peculiar institution” so harrowingly realistic and so convincingly nuanced that his film sets a new standard for what every subsequent slavery movie should look like and do. It’s also easy to imagine that McQueen’s film will be the image of slavery this generation will have as a reference point when it inevitably ends up in high-school history classes all over America. Challenging 12 Years a Slave‘s near-guaranteed hegemony – and taking advantage of the current “slavery trend” that Deadline identifies, between Django Unchained, Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Lincoln, and McQueen’s masterpiece – is the History Channel’s planned remake of Roots. The 1977 miniseries was enormously influential, seen...

The last X-Files movie was...well lets just say it wasn't what fans were expecting! But recently there has been a lot of chatter about a third big screen outing for the most famous UFO hunters in history, as well as talk of a possible resurgence on tv also -- and with the new Idw comic series doing so well, the time seems right. Still, we haven't heard anything official on any of that so we'll have to make do with Entertainment Weekly bringing David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully) back together for one of their reunion issue covers. Here's a small snippet of their coverage. You can see the rest of the covers at the link below. “Gillian and I got [to the audition] about the same time, and we ended up running lines in the hallway,” recalls Duchovny. “We had developed a comfort level with each other when...

She’s no stranger to keeping strange hours, and last night (September 3) Rihanna returned to her New York City hotel after a long evening out.
Donning a black “Money Talks” sweatshirt with jeans and sneakers, the Barbadian beauty seemed a bit cranky as she strolled into the Midtown Manhattan establishment.
Perhaps Ri-Ri was out looking for extra-terrestrials, as one source told press that she’s an avid believer in alien life forms.
The insider revealed, "Rihanna has always been convinced aliens will land on Earth in her lifetime. So she started using the man, who calls himself a sky scanner, to give her information from Nevada on anything that relates to sightings. He keeps in touch with her from the Little A'Le'Inn - a motel which hosts UFO hunters. It's also near one of the world's most secret government bases, Area 51. This isn't a fad for Rihanna, she is a...

New York (AP) — David Lyle, CEO of the National Geographic Channel, has seen enough of the letters to know how they go. The writer is typically a longtime reader of the magazine, who perhaps recalls the times he leafed through its glossy pages while perched on grandpa's knee.
"The second paragraph," he said, "would always be, 'So you can imagine my disappointment when ...'"
Fill in the blank. Maybe the person saw the channel's documentary about escort services, or a show about a man who sculpts with a chain saw. Perhaps it was a show about gypsies, UFO hunters or people stocking up for the imminent end of the world. Maybe more letters will come after this Sunday, when narrator Rob Lowe starts a nostalgic three-day look at the 1980s.

According to the announcement there are some great shows coming our way, including the second season of Lost Girl, a Treasure Island miniseries, the premieres of Monster Man, Dream Machines, and Total Blackout, the return of Ghost Hunters, Hollywood Treasure, and Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files, and of course some Saturday Original Movies.
