Quotes

  • Professor Nick Cutter : You gave me a fright there. Valerie, what are you doing?

Valerie Irwin : What am I doing? What about you? Don't tell me that you're not responsible for all of this.

    Professor Nick Cutter : What?

Valerie Irwin : You people... with all your mysteries and secrets... I knew who you were from the first minute. You created him in some kind of, horrible genetic experiment, didn't you? He escaped, and now you've come to take him back. Well I won't let you.

Professor Nick Cutter : That's not how it is.

Valerie Irwin : Please don't lie to me! I'm not stupid. I'm going to take him somewhere safe, and I'll tell everyone what you've done.

Professor Nick Cutter : But what are you going to say? That you buried your boyfriend after your pet killed him?

Valerie Irwin : ...It was an accident. Dave got careless, he didn't know how to handle him...!

Professor Nick Cutter : And you do?

Valerie Irwin : He trusts me... I'm the closest thing to a mother he's ever had. I went into my garbage one day, and he was just, somehow, magically, there... a tiny cub, frightened, alone. Half-dead. I had to look after him.

Professor Nick Cutter : I can understand that. And you've done very well, Valerie, but you have to give him up.

Valerie Irwin : So that you can torture him? But of course, you don't call it that, do you? You call it research.

Professor Nick Cutter : No nonono no, that's not what's going on.

Valerie Irwin : Do you think I can't see how special he is? How unusual? You created him, and now you want to destroy him!

Professor Nick Cutter : I care about that animal as much as you do, but he doesn't belong here, and you can't help him. I can.

Valerie Irwin : You don't care about him. If you did you would tell the truth!

Professor Nick Cutter : I'm telling you the truth. You have to trust me, Valerie... okay, okay, it's okay... come on. Help me... please.

Valerie Irwin : It's too late. I'm sorry. I don't want any of this to happen. But I can't abandon him now.

  • Abby Maitland : How long has the body been here?

    Professor Nick Cutter : I don't know. A week; a month.

Connor Temple : If it's been that long, the anomaly could have formed before the detector came online, which would mean there's nothing wrong with it, guys.

Professor Nick Cutter : Yeah, there's one problem. The sabretooth may well have killed the guy, but it sure as hell didn't dig a trench ten feet deep and bury his body.

  • Connor Temple : I double-checked every chip and circuit board in that detector. It's working, I'm telling you. If there was an anomaly, it'd have shown up. I'd stake my life on it.

Professor Nick Cutter : May have to.

  • Jenny Lewis : Evacuate and we've got media meltdown. How am I supposed to keep a lid on that? What if the press stumble into an anomaly in the woods?

Professor Nick Cutter : Listen, this animal is gonna kill again. It's inevitable.

Jenny Lewis : Perhaps, but I happen to think running that risk is the lesser of two evils.

Professor Nick Cutter : Yes, but if we keep this open, people are going to die.

Jenny Lewis : It's your job to see they don't,

  • Mr. West : Who are you? What do you want?

Professor Nick Cutter : I'm from... The James Lester Animal Foundation. You've probably heard of us.

    Mr. West : No.

Professor Nick Cutter : Never mind.

  • Professor Nick Cutter : The creature knows this territory well. It just made a kill here. And I think it will come back. And it most likely is nocturnal. So its senses are gonna be sharper than ours. I shouldn't have to say this, but be careful. Any questions?

Connor Temple : Can I have a gun?

Professor Nick Cutter : Take a wild guess.

    Connor Temple : No?

Professor Nick Cutter : Good guess.
