Wrong on diabetes
lorigoodnow24 September 2020
The episode lost me when they said the patient had a glucose of 25 with undiagnosed diabetes. She actually would have had a very high blood glucose level, maybe over 400, rather than the low figure of 25 they said she had. Also, any doctor would have noticed immediately that she had a very high number because her breath would have a distinctly sweet smell.

Units matter!
zyxiepixie6 December 2020
This is actually a reply to both the other review and the trivia for this episode. There are different units to measure blood glucose levels. The standard unit in the US is mg/dL, but the international units (used in Canada, I presume, where the show is filmed) are mmol/L. A BGL of 25 mmol/L is in fact equivalent to 450 mg/dL, which is well above the 20 mmol/L (360 mg/dL) that is the beginning of the DKA danger range for people with type I diabetes. There are a LOT of medical innacuracies in this show-mainly for the sake of drama, as much as I love it-but please give the writers an iota of credit.
