The bodies of wealthy couple, Derek Haysom and his wife Nancy Haysom, a relative of the Astor family, were found on Palm Sunday 1985 in their home in Lynchburg, Virginia. The incredibly bloody murder scene and the grotesque manner in which the pair were slaughtered startled the local community. Investigators gathered information from Canada, England and South Africa and soon the crime attracted national attention when the prime suspects became the victims' own daughter, Elizabeth, and her German lover, Jens Soering.
