Forgettable Experinece!

Mahesh Bhatt And Mukesh Bhatt Have gone for Scripts Which are:- (1)Based On Reality. (2)Rip-off of Hollywood Film Scripts.

Showbiz is of the first type. They have also continued their tradition of giving breaks to Newcomers. This time its the Lead actors As well as the Director who make their debut in this disaster movie.

Lets cut back to the movie where Rohan Arya(Tushar Jalota)is first at the receiving end of criticism from the Media, then becomes a Media-Darling.He Becomes the Victim of a team of Media-Persons.They Trace him when he is on the Lookot for a Prostitute Tara(Mrinalini Sharma)and when he is going in a car with her the Paparazzi follow them that ends in a accident leaving Tara In Coma. The there is Breaking News of Rohan being in a Car with a Prostitute.Rohan tries to seek revenge and that is all SHOWBIZ is all about.

Showbiz tries to expose the Irritating Character of The Media. There are a few scenes in the first half where the film scores few brownie points, but the Plot sinks in the second Half. The Finale is So Boring that you tend to Take a Sleep and curse the writers Brain.

Choreographer Raju Khan who turns director with this film doesn't provide the elegance needed for this film.Narration of the film is Very Slow you think the director is confessing that he doesn't know the Style of Narration.Script Writing Is the Biggest Flaw of this film and has Pot-Holes more than our Indian Roads. Also a lot remains to be Done on the Editing Side.Music By Lalit Pandit who earlier composed for Television has only one Hummable tune which is 'Meri Palak ka tu Sitara' sung beautifully by Bhatt Favourite K.K.

Of the Lead Players Tushar Jalota needs to vary his expressions but is Okay considering this is his debut film.Mrinalini Sharma is Passable. The Supporting Cast which boasts of experienced Actors Like Gulshan Grover,Sushant Singh,Sachin Khedekar,Saurabh Shukla and they carry their roles efficiently.

So Watch Showbiz if you Have Nothing Else to do.

Nothing much in this show

Showbiz is a movie made to show the ugly face of electronic media. The subject is interesting and looking at today's world pretty serious too. But debut director Raju Khan was not able to hold the load of such serious subject and delivered something which is too much unrealistic and unbelievable.

Showbiz is a story of Rohan a new young promising singer (this singer can play good guitar and band too). He is the winner of some contest on the channel named Showbiz, driven by Saurav Shukla, and he is star in his first album. His career is just about to grow when some publicity and money hungry media reporters trapped him and publish false news about him. Rohan whose career is now doomed must seek revenge on them, with their own weapon.

To be true I didn't find any good point in the movie, except that only at certain point it is interesting. Specially somewhere around interval the story takes turn and we feel that there is going to be some excitement in the movie. But before that and even after that nothing of any significance happens and story goes as predicted.

Lets start from the beginning of the movie. The movie starts with the song, and then in the first 30 minutes we are bombarded by another two songs. The songs are not very good for ears neither for eyes. Story just crawls very slowly and absolutely nothing happens in first 20 minutes (remember the movie is less than 2 hrs), other than characters introduction. Some events starts happening after the 3rd song and the story get grip around interval. But then again interval it goes in predicted line and by the end the audience can exactly say word by word what dialogs are coming next.

Another problem is too loud and unrealistic characters of villains (i.e. media people), which are not different than the cool terrorists in other Bollywood movies. With such characters come unrealistic situations followed by unrealistic scenes. Whatever is happening nothing is believable and are just out of scope for happening in reality. The end also goes in the similar way. The hero easily fools all these very intelligent villains.

In short there is nothing significant to watch in the movie. Acting is below ordinary for the youngsters. Also the elders do not make any impression. Music, choreography, camera work is not impressive. Script has lot of holes, and direction is not up to point. Even after being shorter than the usual Bollywood movie, at many times movie feels just stretched without any significant events. Just watch the movie on your own risk. OK to watch on rented CD or on cable channels.

Paparazzi in Hindi
ajitdubey23 October 2009
Just Translate "Paparazzi" in Hindi and you will find Vishesh Film's Showbiz... This is not a new thing Mahesh Bhatt has done this throughout his life and shamelessly admit it also... so just go and watch one more direct lift of a Hollywood movie.. or on second thought why not watch the original even that is also not a very good one. The difference is in the original film, Hero is upcoming Actor and in Showbiz he is upcoming Singer, rest of the cast is almost same. Mukesh Bhatt was unable to get permission to shoot on original Locations so he had to adjust in screenplay and for that he can take credit.. And About songs, just watch few of the pakastani Videos you will find most of the Bhatt's Camp Songs inspired (Lifted) from there. The only original thing they are doing is earning from these coppers but this time even this was big let down for them...
