Samuel Fuller : I like to write with the camera and in one sense, when you sit down and write with a typewriter, you describe a character coming into an arena like that, looking around and seeing certain things and unfortunately in motion picture tradition, the character will come in and you will continually cut to what the writer is seeing, to what the actor is seeing, and I pretend that the camera is a typewriter and we will actually see what the character sees without cuts. I hate cuts, I hate over the shoulders, I hate master, medium, moving, I like it in one shot and its very difficult to get it half the time, the other half, almost impossible.
