Untold Stories from an escaped Iraqi Soldier.., 19 December 2007
Author: tara-hunnewell from United States

Lewis Alsamari, the actor that plays Grunt, has a book coming out.. "Out of Iraq". It's amazing. Aged 17, Lewis Alsamari was conscripted into the Iraqi army. Things went from bad to worse once his superiors discovered his ability to speak English, and Lewis was selected for Saddam's elite, top secret intelligence service, an offer he literally could not refuse. This left him with only one option - to escape from his native land, leaving his family behind him... He escaped Saddam Hussein's regime and army and had to work out how to get his family out of Abu Ghraib prison after they were thrown in there as punishment for his escape. In that process, he was shot and injured by his own Iraqi comrades, fled across the desert almost eaten alive by wolves, and embarked on the dangerous and dark underworld of people smugglers and illegal border crossing to get himself and his family to safety. Some of his untold stories are in this movie..
