The entire film was shot on a single location, located in the woods of Soest, in the Netherlands.
Because the film was entirely shot on a single location and required few setups for each scene, roughly 10 minutes of the film was shot each day allowing the entire film to be filmed in just 8 days.
The raid on the German garrison from which the resistance fighters return at the start of the film was initially planned to be filmed completely but due to budget constraints and the fact that it took too much away from the main plot, this idea was shelved early on. The raid is only talked about in the film but never shown.
