A Father's Love...
info-781843 August 2020
An interesting film that blended comedy with drama. It is an almost gut-wrenching film because it portrays a father who just wants to be there for his child. But he faces obstacles beyond his control. The toy horse becomes a symbol of the father's love for his daughter.

The soulless bureaucratic machine stood in the way of the father's meeting with the beloved child ... and what came out of it

An unexpected trip!

This film relates a simple story of a father who tries to attend his daugther's birthday. However, the trip is full of meetings and complicates his goal to reach. It is a good mixture of humor and tenderness but also shows a severe system as far as the state is concerned.

A brilliant story about father´s love and all the troubles he encounters on his way because of the non-functional system, with whom many may relate today. We are honored that such a great film as 'Sticker' is part of our festival!

All the elements of a fine Short Film are here

STICKER sticks with you long after you finish watching it. It blends drama and comedy superbly and the extraordinary efforts a father will go to please his child is a universal theme. Some of the twists in the plot help to sustain surprise over its 18 minutes. Much success to its director/writer.

STICKER is a gem!

Georgi Uskovski is a filmmaker to watch. I caught this short at Sundance this year. One of my favorites. Funny and brilliant.

A distant father determined to see his daughter's performance and prove his adoration has his day go awry when the DMV runs out of renewal stickers.

What ensues is handled deftly by Uskovski who also wrote the short's screenplay.

A farce comedy for this moment!

Sticker is a wonderful short film with equal parts heart and comedy. The farcical elements of the film are relentlessly entertaining and the characters are likable and relatable. Bravo Georgi Uskovski and team!

bureaucracy and parenthood

"Sticker" talks about fatherhood and how a bureaucratic system prevents a father from fulfilling a commitment to his daughter. Unkovski takes advantage of the subtext to construct a piece of clever political humor.

A very well done short action/crime film

This was really funny. I wasn't expecting I'd find it as funny as I did. The pacing is great and the story has you hooked from minute one. Such a simple concept and the main character is put through conflict after conflict.

A short that will make you feel all the different emotions

STICKER is a film that goes beyond the purpose of entertaining viewers. Though it has a lot of moments that will make you laugh out loud, it also dives deep into two things: fatherhood, and also reflecting on the government's poor bureaucratic system. We see how dedicated the father is to reach his daughter, despite all the mishaps happening to him throughout the film. Absolutely funny and brilliant in writing and directing!

Great dark comedy

As the main character gets deeper and deeper into trouble his story reveals a lot about bureaucratic practices in the Balkans and police work around the globe, but keeps you well entertained along the way.
