Both mother and daughter face many problems and insults due to Srividy's unmarried status . She falls in love with Rahman whose mother Manorama is very strict about bredding , status, family name etc., When she realises that Gauthami is the illegitimate child of a stage actress she flatly refuses . Both Rahman and Gauthami elope and run to Ooty they meet with a major accident where Gauthami loses her mind . Rahman thought not yet married to her takes good care of her . Enters Heera. The loud spoilt daughter of rich. Poornam Vishwanathan . After some unplanned meetings, she falls for Rahman . When she realises that he is taking good care of Gauthami, she starts liking him even more but maintains her distance . How ever, in a heat of one momenty they consumate their relationship . Paralley Gauthami is getting treated . She almost becomes fine when Rahman decides to marry her. At the same time Heera is pregnant . A lot of confusions and twists later , Gauthami comes to know about this and turns her back. Rahman marries Heera and all becomes well again . Srividya and Sulakshna ( Jaishankar's wife ) are resplendent in their silks and jewellery . Srividya get s a jovial role for a change shes always fun and accepts her fate instead of crying and wailing . Heera is good eye candy . Gauthami looks alarmingly thin. Tall and svelte Rahman is perfect for the hero's role . Manorama is likeable even in her haughty role as an obsessed mother . The side charactes of Disco Shanti , Janakraj add to some silly comic scenes . Over all a fine family fare .
