The film is based on writer-director David Spaltro's experiences attending the film program School of Visual Arts (SVA) in NYC from 2001-2005. It was funded completely on the director's many credit cards.
Actress Molly Ryman was cast as "Allyson" in January 2007, beating out of over thirty NYC actresses for the role.
Most of the film was shot in a Bushwick Brooklyn loft, recycling and building sets overnight, only weeks before the building was condemned for illegal zoning and all the tenants were evicted.
