When I was 6 or 7 years old my father started getting invitations from schools to lecture about his experiences from the Nazi death camps. For him it gave life a new purpose, while for me it was just his job. Except for the numbers on his arm, recurring nightmares and old age - he was like any parent. The experiences of victims of war are impossible to grasp. Even for a son. When initiating this project I sought to find a way to create a universal depiction of a holocaust survivor. My ambition was to create a film that anyone, of any background or descent, would be able to relate to and learn from.
