Obvious

Warning: Spoilers
I figured out the ending in the second episode. Obviously not the whole story but who the killer was. There weren't many twists for me.

I'm also left with so many questions - I'm confused by the Chinese restaurant guy - what was in the envelope? A copy of a driver's licence?

I find it hard to believe that a cop would chain a killer up in his basement in order to try and get her committed. He could have handed her in and then worked on getting her committed.

The son isn't the best actor which annoyed me.

Also how was she changing her pants with the chain around her ankle? And who wears shoes when they are locked in a basement for weeks on end?

Anyway there were a lot of silly things and a few unanswered questions, the main actor was good looking so he gets a few stars and the story wasn't too boring so that added a couple of stars.

Worth Viewing

I found the series compelling and refreshingly not American. Thus, no happy ever afters, real life consequences, and no PC. The plot is intriguing, a police detective investigating himself via amnesia. The relationships are not too predictable; I like his son saying "Just because you have forgotten everything doesn't mean that I have". I recommend it as it is a good story, a challenging theme, and an attempt at realism.

Leg chain and trousers?
rrmmmmm512 December 2021
I somewhat enjoyed this limited 1 season series but I couldn't get past the leg chain coupled with trousers. As one point early in the series she puts her trousers back on, but the leg chain is still attached. A skirt would have allowed this, not the illogical trousers. Someone should have caught that.

Magic chain?

Warning: Spoilers
I'm half way through this series. So far so good. But I can't understand how the director seems to have overlooked one thing. How does the female prisoner get her trousers on and off if she can't remove the chain from her ankle?

Makes no sense to me.

Tedious

Usually enjoy Walter presents but his was completely slow, boring, dark, depressing deliberately obscure. Gave up after 3 episodes. As well as being unbelievable.

Unpredictable
alyssiaortiz19 July 2020
I stuggle with movies and tv series because I can guess 99% of the sub plots, which means I rarely enjoy the storyline. I watch to appreciate the other aspects.

BUT... this was delightfully unexpected. Unpredictable plot twists and no unnecessary and unrealistic forced rose colored glasses. It was raw, real, and not wrapped up with a big cheesy bow of love and happily ever afters.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Gallic gobbledegook

Warning: Spoilers
Let's keep it short: crooked cop gets shot, wakes up with amnesia. Doesn't even remember he's crooked. What's not to like?

Er, all the rest of this meandering, horribly directed, horribly edited 'noir'.

For instance, when he gets discharged from hospital he goes home to find a beautiful young woman chained up and half-starved in his basement (someone, though he's a separated dad on a French cop's income, he lives in a ginormous -if moodily run-down - chateau!

Does he free her? Er, no. That would be too easy and obvious. In fact he doesn't even think about it. Instead he embarks on a long and very boring investigation of who he might have been before he became the vacuous shell that's supposed to hold the viewer's interest for 6 episodes of head-scratching cliché and inanity.

I gave up after 3 episodes because this is utter rubbish, the very poorest of recent French tv crime shows in which style mostly trumps depth, though neither of them makes a showing here. The only thing that bugs me is that I do hope the girl in his basement escaped before the end and gave this sleepwalking non-character a hiding to remember.

Evertything you want in a Mystery-Thriller Series
paul-214814 September 2020
I just loved this series. First of all, it is void of any politics and PC messaging which ruins all American productions. It's does what Hitchcock did so well, it creates a world of it's own and invites you in. Every scene in these 6 episodes is focused only on one thing - solving mysteries. It's a tight police-procedural, but also an edge of your seat thriller. A Paris homicide detective working on solving a series of murders, is shot and after 6 days in a coma, he wakes up with amnesia. As he tries to remember not only who he is, who tried to kill him, who the serial killer is, what Trauma (hence the title) he experienced as a 10 year old boy, he also needs to figure out who the woman is who's locked up in his basement. If you like Hitchcock's The Wrong Man and Christopher Nolan's Memento, you should enjoy this. There are many plot twists, but they are all logical, maybe not at first but by the end all the puzzle pieces fall into place.

Great cast of French actors, especially the actor who plays the protagonist who is terrific.

Lots of facts and answers missing at the end of it. Who tried to kill detective? After Internal affairs officer is killed why they didn't just check for fingerprints? Oh Gosh....amateurs!
