- The eight remaining couples perform either the Paso Doble or the Waltz, then the couple with the lowest score, combined from the judges' scores and viewers' votes, is eliminated.
- Daryl Somers began the episode by welcoming the regular judging panel of Todd McKenney, Helen Richey, Paul Mercurio and Mark Wilson, the house orchestra led by Chong Lim, and co-host Sonia Kruger, who tonight is wearing a silver Wayne Cooper gown. After they inform us that the voting lines have closed, they introduce the eight remaining contestants, who will dance either a Waltz or a Paso Doble tonight.
The first couple to take to the dance floor are Home And Away actor Tim Campbell and his partner Natalie Lowe, who raised the ante with an emotional and dynamic Paso Doble. The couple's passionate performance impressed both the audience and the judges. After Sonia interviewed the couple in the green room at the end of their performance and the judges' comments, the judges revealed their scores. Out of a possible 10, Todd scored them 7, Helen 8, Paul 8 and Mark 9, for a total of 32 points.
Next, farmer and former Big Brother housemate David Graham and his partner Eliza Campagna performed an elegant waltz that thrilled the audience. The judges were impressed by their timing at the start of the routine, the connection between them and David's brave efforts, but recommended that next week, they push themselves a little more. Todd scored them 3, Helen 5, Paul 5 and Mark 5, for a total of 18 points.
Taking to the floor next were former Today Tonight presenter Naomi Robson and her partner Steven Grace, in a red and black gown inspired by the Spanish, who performed a charming and passionate Paso Doble. The judges advised them to work on their technique and push themselves harder in the coming weeks. Todd scored them 5, Helen 6, Paul 5 and Mark 5, for a total of 21 points.
They were followed by former tennis player Todd Woodbridge and his partner Emily Reilly. Their matching outfits also had a Spanish inspiration as they performed an electrifying Paso Doble routine. Again, the audience and judges were equally impressed by the couple's dynamic connection and choreography. The recent strong performances of Todd Woodbridge and Tim Campbell led Mark Wilson to claim "It's the Todd and Tim show!" Todd scored them 6, Helen 7, Paul 7 and Mark 8, for a total of 28 points.
Up next were radio personality Fifi Box and her partner Paul Green, who performed a classic Waltz, a performance that was made even more remarkable by the fact that Fifi had been struck down by the flu for all of the previous week. The judges were impressed that their routine was graceful and well choreographed, and also by the couple's trust and warmth. Todd scored them 7, Helen 8. Paul 8 and Mark 8, for a total of 31 points.
Then it was time for Olympic pole vaulting champion Tatiana Grigorieva, dressed in a pink and white long gown, and her partner Brendan Humphreys, dressed in a suit with a Spanish theme, to take to the floor to perform their Paso Doble. The growth and connection between the couple impress the judges, leading Mark to comment "We have a Russian revolution here!" Todd scored them 8, Helen 8, Paul 9 and Mark 8, for a total of 33 points.
Next to perform were horticulturalist/environmentalist Jamie Durie and his partner Amanda Garner, both dressed in black and fiery red costumes as they danced an unblemished, archetypal Waltz. The judges liked Jamie's pace throughout the routine, but recommended that they concentrate on their attention to detail and push themselves a little further next week. The four judges scored them 6 each, for a total of 24 points.
The last couple to take to the floor were singer/musician Kate Ceberano and her partner John-Paul Collins, who were both dressed in jet black. They had a lot to live up to having received the first 10 of the series last week, and the intensity of their dazzling Paso Doble wowed the audience and the judges, who were also impressed by their connection, strength and the risks that they had taken so far. The four judges scored them 9 each, for a total of 36 points.
Then all eight couples came back to the floor for the third elimination, which began with the announcement of the top six couples based on the judges scores and viewer votes combined. The bottom two couples had to wait a moment longer before it was announced that Natalie and Steven were out. Daryl informed the viewers that the voting lines were now open as Natalie and Steven took us out with a reprise of their dance.
