- Many monsters are covered in blood and/or have exposed organs. Most enemies have "death screens", where if they deplete the player's HP, they will violently slaughter or torture them. For example, Specimen 6 sews the player's eyes shut, and Specimen 4 eats them alive.

- Some enemies, particularly Specimen 7, cause their victims to have drug-like hallucinations. Different monsters have different effects on victims depending on said victim's mental state. However, there are no actual drugs or alcohol in-game.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- SJM is intended to be a horror game, so characteristically, it has horrific bosses, an ominous setting, and generally sets the frightening tone of trying to avoid monsters in the shadows that will try to kill you. On the cover, it seems like a children's game, but players will find that it is not.
