You may have noticed the words "Comic Con" popping up quite a bit recently as well as the teaser bar on every single page promoting our coverage, the little box on the homepage beneath the flash rotator and the box to the right promoting our most recent articles from said "Comic Con" and all point to the RopeofSilicon Comic Con 2008 Blog. Well, for those not in the know, Comic Con is an insanely large comic book convention down in San Diego, California that used to play host to hundreds of convention goers, but since Hollywood's arrival as they bring first look footage, trailers and the stars and directors of their comic book and sci-fi related films to the convention the hundreds have turned into upwards of 125,000 people. Some may consider Comic Con a geekfest of sorts, but considering The Dark Knight just beat Spider-Man 3 to become the largest weekend

I am not sure of the actual ratio of our female-to-male readers, but I am going to risk it and say we have at least 5 women who read the site. The lowball number is based strictly on the lack of Twilight fan fiction on our forums.
And for those few ladies, we're happy to say that a new Twilight teaser trailer has floated our way along with a number of stills. There's plenty of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to go around, along with various other vampires from the film.

If you're headed out (or just coming back from) The Dark Knight this weekend, this is not going to impress you in the slightest. But there are Stephenie Meyer fans out there and there are those of you who are looking forward to seeing Twilight this December. Summit Entertainment has debuted the second full trailer and it's a slight step up from that teaser we saw a while back. I still think this movie looks rather freaky, but has so much sappy romance in it, that I don't think being creeped out is what I'm worried about. Either way, I can't lie and say that I'm looking forward to it, because the more I see now, the less I want to see later. If you're interested, here's the second trailer for Twilight, otherwise - skip it! Oh man, the kids are going crazy for this one. I predict that in two months time, Hot Topic simply will not be able to keep logo and character t-shirts from this movie on the shelves.
Back when I was in high school, the big vampire/outcast movie was The Lost Boys, and I believe the DVD follow-up is due out in the next week or two. Yeah, that's good timing. And then there were some high school kids who had Interview with the Vampire to "relate" to.
Fast forward another few years and it was Underworld, although if you were really thinking those characters shared your problems, you need a drastic change. And now there's Twilight. It's based on a wildly popular young adult novel, and since the studio was kind enough to send me a copy, I promise that I will read it between now and when the film opens,

In a couple of weeks, after all the hype around “The Dark Knight” slowly eases off, I’m pretty sure “Twilight” will become the next most anticipated flick of the year. Yahoo! Today posted a brand-new teaser for the flick, and I’m convinced it’s going to generate some solid buzz in the coming days.
Those of you who read and loved Stephenie Meyer’s book will probably adore this preview and get even more excited about the film’s Dec. 12 release, and those of you who didn’t get a chance yet to work your way through the novel should definitely get a better idea of what the plot is really about.
“Twilight” is directed by Catherine Hardwicke (“Thirteen”) and stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, among many others. What do guys think of this new teaser? Does it fulfill your expectations so far?

Hey there “Twilight” fanatics, here’s a special treat for you. Earlier today, Trailer Addict posted a brand-new promo clip for Catherine Hardwicke’s upcoming adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s ultra-popular novel “Twilight.” Although it’s pretty short, it offers you some behind-the-scenes footage of leads Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
Enjoy the clip below. “Twilight” opens Dec. 12, 2008. I’m not really a big fan of vampire romances, but considering the unbelievable hype that’s currently surrounding this flick, I may end up reading Meyer’s book after all. First I have to finish reading “The Second Summer of the Sisterhood” though. Just kidding!

Update: I have learned a few facts. First off, "Twilight", the book, has sold 5.5 million copies in the United States and the film is budgeted at $37 million. I wish I had those facts when I wrote the piece as they may have been helpful. Oh, and for Twilight fans a few extra details on the film's appearance at Comic Con have been revealed. Two new articles have prompted me to take another look at Twilight and what appears to be an online acceptance that this film will be a giant hit no matter what. Last night I started a huge rant article, but trashed it as it was going nowhere. I was to be based on the online reactions to the Entertainment Weekly cover featuring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as Edward and Bella from the Twilight film. The very first comment over at the Twilight-obsessed MTV Movie Blog

I know most of you cannot get enough of the upcoming romantic vampire flick Twilight. Along with a detailed sysnopsis of the film, we also received two videos (one includes the behind the scenes footage of the wire work) and a Twilight widget. Enjoy!
"Twilight is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met. Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul.
Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance.

Here’s one for all Stephenie Meyer readers who simply cannot wait until the Dec. 12 release of Catherine Hardwicke’s vampire romance “Twilight.” Entertainment Weekly is previewing the flick in their new issue, and you can check out the cover below.
Robert Pattinson looks a bit annoyed on there, but that’s probably because he can’t suck the blood out of Kristen Stewart’s neck. I'm just kidding folks!

The cover for the new Entertainment Weekly cover has appeared touting this December's release Twilight based on the hit vampire-love-human teenage drama of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. The film will be part of the upcoming Comic Con events and we will be sure to have all the details for you. However, for now, enjoy the cover and pinch a vampire man nipple while you're at it. Dude, get some sun... Oh, sorry...

Last year Blood & Chocolate taught us that no matter how good your source material is, any filmmaker can turn it into a mind numbing laugh-a-thon suited only for people who believe all of Europe is populated by well dressed Goths and powered by Absinthe.
So, does Twilight share that fate? It is certainly geared towards young women so it may hit all those marks, but what about fans of the books? After seeing the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly over at author Stephenie Meyer's official blog, I am not sure what to think...
Like our own Woman in Black says, "It's for the kids," so I cannot be too harsh on it ... until the Twilight Dinner for Fiends!

Wild and wooly, there was little to love, but a lot to look forward to... A lot has happened in the past six months and while there may not have been very many good movies and there were plenty of bad ones there was much more to remember as well as a lot to look forward to. First off, the writers'strike was finally settled, but as we move into the second half of 2008 the actors are now threatening to shut down Hollywood with a strike of their own. We learned of a new kind of woman out in the wild and she is known as a "Twilight Mom", a term that proved it could wreck havoc on your server should you decide to bash any part of Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" novels or the film based on said material. I wrote an article called "I Wanna Be a 'Twilight' Mom!
