Frank and Luella are back for a third series of Shakespeare & Hathaway.
The BBC are not calling House on the duo yet. The pair go to the bingo. A developer wants to by the bingo hall and then close it down.
However Frank finds an old lag Eddie Monmouth (Vic Reeves) who he put behind bars some years earlier working there as a cleaner. Frank convinced that Eddie will clean the place out and it is not going to be with a vacuum cleaner.
When the owner of the bingo hall, Lucky Green is found dead, Eddie becomes a suspect.
Another good blend of mystery and comedy. I laughed more in this episode than some newer comedies launched in this year. Cough 'King Gary' Cough.
I think the opening flashback scene where Frank caught Eddie with laughing gas was inspired by a famous outtake from the series Catterick that starred Vic Reeves and Mark Benton. Both actors kept corpsing.
I did miss the character of Marlowe. I think the antagonistic relationship between Frank and Keeler might get too much.
