Illogical motivations
scottemigh4 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Killing Bellamy made no sense. I'm fine with killing beloved primary characters, but it has to be done right. There has to be a point, and their death has to have an impact. The point of shooting Bellamy was to get the book. She shot him then left the book, making his death meaningless. Furthermore, she shot him and jumped in the wormhole, and the episode ended 20 seconds later. There was zero time for an emotional response. There was no impact. The music didn't set an emotional tone, there were no witnesses to react to it, it just happened for no reason.

Just why the F would you do this??

Warning: Spoilers
This show has been absolutely favorite since day 1 ...until now! Kind of. This trend where you kill off main characters, especially fan favorites NEEDS TO STOP!!! Nobody wants Game of Thrones ending in every show! Just NO!! It really gets old now that every show producer started doing it for wow factor. Also wanna point out that it's completely unbiased because Raven and Becca are my favorites. In all honesty Clarke should have probably been killed off instead of Bellamy, because she's more villainous than Sheidheda. And this is coming from a person who actually likes a good villain portrayal. Aside from Jason's character murderous steak, every season storyline gets no remarks from me.

So Clarke kills Bellamy for Madi's book but she ends up going into the portal without it and with disciples being alive and next to the book. OK, that's a dumb choice.

Ruined the ENTIRE series

Warning: Spoilers
I was actually enjoying the episode right up until the last few minutes. Although I wasn't a fan of this new brainwashed Bellamy, I figured that it would work out in the end. Man, was I wrong. How do you give one of the most important characters in the show such a lackluster and pointless death?! It was completely out of character for Clarke to shoot him! And a kill-shot, at that! Why not in the arm? Why not in the leg? Why not shoot the freaking book, like Gabriel did with the Flame? Literally anywhere but Bellamy's heart. AND THEN SHE DIDN'T EVEN TAKE THE BOOK!

I have been a fan of this show since just before the 3rd season aired, it truly was a show I looked forward to each year. I have watched it and rewatched. I have live-tweeted as the episodes aired for the first time. I read the original books and mountains of fanfiction. This show was so special to me. And in the last three minutes of the episode, with only three episodes remaining after, they managed to completely and utter ruin it. This scene has soured my love for the show, it will never be the same. I don't know what the point was? Shock value, I guess.

Great job, I don't think I'll bother with the last episodes or the spinoff, since Jason can't seem to respect his audience, actors, and story.

Wow. Just wow. If I could give this episode a 0, I would. The disrespect that Jason has shown to Bellamy and Bob with this ending is astonishing. I have never seen a show with poorer writing. He's been a BELOVED character throughout 7 seasons. He's had strong beliefs that no one has been able to sway in 7 seasons but then all within 1 episode he throws away all his beliefs and essentially becomes brainwashed so easily?? Does not make any sense at all. And then on top of that to have it be Clarke who kills him is absurd. Over a notebook(that she left in the hands of the enemy might I add). Bellamy was alone when he died and his family nor friends were there with him. Every character who has died (even if they are the foulest of people) has had someone say "may we meet again" or "your fight is over." Bellamy didn't even get that. Honestly it's just disrespectful to the character, the actors, and the fans. What a shame.

Why Jason?
noahiellina10 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This was a huge filler episode which is bad enough considering we're in the final episodes of the last season but Jason decides to kill off Bellamy in a horrible way.

Bellamy has always been the heart of the show and he dies a fanatic who betrays his friends and Clarke is the one who pulls the trigger which is such a low blow to the friendship they've had for 7 seasons.

Octavia and Bellmays relationship goes nowhere when it's been the most interesting part of the show and the season is almost over an I'm still waiting for it to feel like the end is near.

The final 3 episodes better do something great to pull off a decent ending.

So Let Me Get This Straight
Anonnamus24 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode. It just magnified how consistently stupid the decisions every character makes are. Shoot first, ask questions later...unless it's a truly dangerous foe, then go ahead and let them live so they can escape and wreak some more havoc before finally dying for real. The decision to let Former Russell live wasn't even the dumbest decision made in this episode. My thoughts about this travesty of an episode.

  • The red sun made a convenient comeback. Give me a break. They have enough going on.
  • I would really like to know what the hell Bellamy saw that made him completely change his entire outlook on life and betray his family and friends.
  • Why did Gabriel wait so long to take the anti-toxin? Also, there was one dose left. Did Clarke meet up with them to get a bag full of the anti-toxin? She miraculously appeared at the right time with it, so I guess we should just move on. At least she waited until the guys were killed by the bugs.
  • Poor Madi has been demoted to a tiny secondary role. I'm glad she remembers things, she deserves a bigger part of this final season.
  • I like that kid whose parents were killed. He's brave and has shown that perhaps he's the one character that won't make an idiotic decision. Unlike all Arkadians.
  • Indra. You above all people know how things can take a turn. Why the hell didn't you kill Sheidheda when you had a chance? I mean, really? I foresee a Sheidheda/Cadogan alliance in the near future. Y'all deserve what you get for keeping him alive.
  • Bellamy finds the sketchbook then says he must turn it over the Cadogan. Clarke cries and begs him to give her the book, but he refuses because blah blah for all mankind blah blah, so instead of shooting him in the leg or arm to make him drop the book, she kills him. Her best friend. One of the best characters of the show. When she didn't have to. She had other options. Okay, even if we move past that dumbassery, she LEAVES THE BOOK THERE. She killed Bellamy for absolutely no reason. His death was in vain. I don't mind a major character death as long as it is for an actual reason. A noble death. This just proves again that Clarke kills when she's emotional. She's unstable. Please kill her. Seriously. If I somehow missed it and she actually did get the book, then I almost take back most of what I just typed.
  • Why does everyone need helmets to cross the bridge but no one in this episode wore one? Are they all brain dead now? Might as well end it this way, I don't think they're very smart anyway.

This has been one long vent for me, and for that I apologize. I imagine Echo will now try to kill Clarke and I almost hope she succeeds. This season is terrible. Clarke will kill everyone but the people who actually deserve the killing, hence why Cadogan and Sheidheda are still alive. Please get better.

Great! And many reviews aren't objective.

Warning: Spoilers
Amazing episode, and everybody are writing bad reviews only for a single character apparently dead. We needed to be mature to watch the show, bad things always happen. You're childish if you think everything must be a fairy tale and become obsessed with a character.

at least make it count
Abdulxoxo12 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It would have make more sense that she got the book after she killed him, but she didn't, so he died for nothing. that is no way to killed off a character that has been the spine of the show, take for example Monty's death, it was beautifully executed and was worth it 'cause his death was made to even set the plot for s6 and s7. but in Bellamy's case his death is totally pointless.

I don't think this episode deserve this low rating and all of those rating this episode 1 star might as well go back and rate the entire season 7 low too 'cause this episode is as good as rest of the episodes in s7. I rate this episode based on the entire episode not because of one thing I didn't like. peace out.

Disrespectful
relluke14 September 2020
I never would have thought that the showrunner would actually stop telling the story he's been writing for 7 seasons because of personal issues against an actor but here we are.

I decided last year that I wouldn't watch season 7 before the entire season is out, so I can decide based off of peoples reaction whether to bother or not. But I could not stay away from spoilers all the time and all I heard was outrage. Male lead erased from promotion, main characters sidelined for new characters and guest stars, all the main focus on the prequel while ignoring the actual show that is still airing and now this episode.

If a showrunner can't stay professional in order to give the show, actors, characters and fans the respect they deserve after 7 years of dedicating their life to keeping this show on air then they shouldn't work in television in the first place.

Now I have to agree to different articles about this show that the 100 will go down as one of the most disappointing final seasons of all time next to game of thrones.

The 100 at it's finest
kaspercmhermans15 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Was it written to perfection? No, not at all. But Clarke killing Bellamy is in a way The 100 it's finest. The impossible choices she had to make along the road it has been more dramatic. From Mount Weather, to killing her 'own mother' and now the grand finale chosing between Madi en Bellamy. An impossible choice.

I didn't expect Clarke to shoot, cause somehow in my mind since season 3-4 Clarke, Bellamy, Raven and Murphy were safe to make it to the end. In a weird way I hoped one of them wouldn't survive season 7. And then when Nikki was about to kill Raven, she decided to let her live with her sins. Leaving me thinking it wasn't going to happen anymore this season, and then just 15 minutes later... bang! They caught my off-guard. In a way I think that is brilliant.

The excecution could have been way better though. I mean, why are the sketches that important? It would give this scene so much more meaning if knew what was going on with the book. I mean, Clarke knows, but we don't. So somehow you miss the emotional connection and tension to this scene to realy make it count. Even if they explain in the next epsiode(s), it would have been better for us to already knew about it's meaning. That would have made the scene so much more emotional and understandable to watch. I think that is the biggest problem with the last scene.

*English is not my first langague, hope you understand.

Bellamy deserved better.
marianadiniz10 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Jason threw the entire show in the garbage with this episode. Making us love Bellamy and Clarke's relationship for 7 years just to make her kill him is achieving another level of cruelty. I thank Bob Morley for giving us amazing performances during the years, he is a true star and The 100 never deserved him.

Unbelievable
maelislechapelier13 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is just the result of an amazing show directed by one horrible person. JR decided to change the original script because he couldn't accept the fact that Bob Morley needed some space. It is NOT normal to make the main character kill the second main character over a book she ended up not even taking. It is not normal to ruin the two main characters of a show over a personal argument in real life. The entire situation is unprofessional.

This episode is a joke. JR ruined his own show, not only because he killed one of the most important characters, but because of how he killed this character. This is the worst death of all shows. Bellamy Blake deserved better, The 100 deserved better.

"Trust Bellamy"
choiseburgerz10 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Yes I am mad. The male lead of the entire show is killed in an impulsive and ultimately meaningless way since a witness was left in the room alive knowing about the notebook. So there better be a huge twist coming or this will definitely be the worst end to a good series so far, and GoT was pretty bad.

Filler episode in the final season with only 4 episodes to go?
monbebetwitter10 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was honestly not needed. It's purpose was solely to kill off the male lead for no apparent reason and in a poorly executed way.

The showrunner wanted the show to be like Game of Thrones, and it surely will go down in history as one of the worst final seasons in tv history along with it.

Disappointment going into the home stretch
butcherbob11 September 2020
If someone who has never seen this series asked me if it was worth watching I'd tell them to watch until the end of season 5 (as they leave Earth for a new home).

The entire Sanctum arc has pretty ruined the characters and show for me. Besides Sanctum not being a particularly interesting story line, the main characters have been reduced to little more than selfish small minded murderers. The human race is almost extinct but our heroes are happy to kill unarmed people for almost no reason at all (Echo wins the award for this but Clarke is coming close behind).

And this episode, in the very home stretch of the series, takes the cake. It's almost like the writers want shock value but don't know how to do it properly. Instead they've mangled and destroyed 7 years of world building.

Excellent
rainy-designs11 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
There sure are a lot of butthurt feelings flying around here so I'll cut to the chase: in dystopian storytelling if a character fails to learn their ultimate lesson about whatever character flaws they may have they usually die for it. This is the case with Bellamy Blake. He never learned to stop making illogical emotional decisions and ultimately that put him on the path to his demise. I loved the character and was sad to see that he never got there but his ending made sense. I'm sure that cry babies will eagerly come here to throw shade at me because they didn't get their happily ever after that they've been having wet dreams about but frankly I can't help but wonder what the hell y'all are doing watching this show as you clearly don't understand the genre and are wishing this was the same as most of the other hot garbage the CW pumps out.

The only thing this excellent sci-fi drama is guilty of is being on the wrong channel.

Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers The events in this season, entire episodes even, feel backwards at this point . The Bellamy episode should have been earlier in the season . Now this, the last episode was just short of ending the series This episode feels like redundancy. Clarks voice has changed , Bellamy killed off, I suspect the cast really came together to push though these last 2 seasons. I admit I have been bingeing these two seasons though , something I would have never done in the past ( I will miss this show in my life )if your reading this I assume you are a fan too , hi !

The worst episode of the 100 to ever air. Jason managed to destroy a 6 season long relationship in 1 episode. Not only did he ruin bellamys character but he ruined Clarke's as well. If there was an option I would rate it a 0/10.

Mediocre Filler with an Atrocious Final Scene
abbyldavis10 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The entirety of the final scene was out of character and full of escalation for the sake of escalation alone.

Six seasons of building up the relationship between two characters that refuse to let each other die, only to have one of them shoot the other for a goal that was immediately voided, leaving the death of one of them to be utterly meaningless is the worst thing this show has ever done.

I would be furious if I wasn't so confused. There was plenty of opportunity presented within the episode itself to avoid everything that happened in that final scene, and every ounce of that opportunity was ignored in what I can only see as spite toward the fans that have supported the show this far.
