There is a lot to like in Netflix’s Chinese film, Delicious Romance. It thrives on a good blend of emotions, using filmmaking techniques innovatively to bring out the complexities of the characters. It looks at modern relationships from the perspective of three childhood friends who are now working and struggling in their professional lives while trying to make sense of their relationships with each other and with the world. The film comes alive right from the first scene, setting the stage for a promising ride with the three women. It is remarkable to tell a story of multiple characters while managing to go into the depths of their hearts and minds to bring out the nuances and, on top of that, keep it all together with a tightly-knit screenplay. It is filled with frames that are revealing in their representation and actions that widely reflect characters’ emotional states. We...

Alicia Hannah-Kim’s latest role as the first female sensei in Netflix’s Cobra Kai may give observers the false impression that she’s an overnight success.
But before her likeness was wrapped around a building in the famed Los Angeles shopping mall The Grove, she was waiting tables, auditioning, and dreaming of one day being the representation she lacked growing up in her native Australia.
Hannah-Kim, who is of Korean descent, recalls her difficult journey climbing that Hollywood ladder which includes having to turn down stereotypical roles, rejection, and thoughts of giving up before she got the call for Cobra Kai.
“Being an ‘overnight success’ is such a charming concept and so wholly untrue in my case. I have endless respect and solidarity with actors who are out there self-taping and auditioning into what feels like oblivion because I have been in those trenches for years,” Hannah-Kim tells Deadline.

Cuphead’s Dlc, the Delicious Last Course, is a hearty meal full of new bosses, challenges, and achievements. While most of these digital trophies are self-explanatory, one of those unlocks is already making gamers scratch their heads.
Mind you, it’s easy to understand all the confusion. After all, the elusive Paladin achievement in Cuphead simply reads: “Obtain great power.” That’s not exactly the most helpful of descriptions. Sure, that “explanation” implies that unlocking the achievement is no easy task, but unlike other achievements, the description doesn’t provide any actual instructions. How does one go about obtaining “great power” in the Delicious Last Course? After some digging, we have uncovered the path gamers need to traverse to unlock this achievement.

Cuphead‘s long-awaited Delicious Last Course Dlc is finally here, which means it’s time for Cuphead fans everywhere to do battle with the Dlc’s new collection of visually striking and frustratingly difficult bosses.
Yes, if you thought that the Delicious Last Course would somehow take things easy on you after everything Cuphead put you through, you’re sadly mistaken. If anything, the difficulty level of the average Dlc boss is roughly equal to the difficulty level of the absolute toughest bosses in the base game. Some even set a new standard for how challenging a Cuphead boss can be.
While every Delicious Last Course player will inevitably face that one boss they just can’t get past, here’s our rough ranking of every new boss in the Dlc from easiest to hardest.

To the casual observer, there’s nothing remarkable about Sylvia. An intelligent, confident woman, Sylvia tends to keep quiet about her formidable linguistic abilities, impressive knowledge of weaponry, and skills as a markswoman.
Questions about her professional life are met with bland answers about an unspectacular career in the Civil Service, which is only very slightly true – because until recently, Sylvia was a high-ranking British spy.
That's the official logline of Acorn TV's Signora Volpe, starring Emilia Fox as Sylvia. We had a chance to chat with her about making the show.
As much as I love to watch international programming, I only get bits and pieces of everything out there. You don't make it easy. You have one of the busiest schedules I've ever seen.

Organizers of the upcoming Berlinale continue to plan for a physical festival under strict safety measures, but with the EFM already moved online due to rising Covid-19 cases, this year looks set to be another gloomy gathering, not only for Germany’s dispirited film sector, but also for Berlin businesses bracing for more lost revenue.
Local cinema operators and distributors have welcomed the move, but the condensed event and ongoing Omicron scare is likely to keep attendance on the low side.
“This is such an important signal for the entire culture and film industry,” says Christian Bräuer, chairman of independent cinema association Ag Kino – Gilde and managing director of Berlin’s Yorck-Kino group. “Of course, as social venues, we are aware of our responsibility. Especially in the pandemic, however, the special value of cultural life and experience is evident.”

French film exports generated 91.4M euros ($103.6M) in 2021, a 5.5% increase on the previous year’s provisional figures, while admissions were up 8% to 14.8M. Comparatively, French films within France sold 39.2M tickets during the year. The figures were announced during the annual Unifrance Rendez-Vous with French Cinema which is taking place in Paris this week — one of the rare international gatherings in the current landscape that’s being held as a physical event.
Today’s numbers are provisional estimates and will be higher when they are trued up in the fall. For example, when originally announced in January 2021, the 2020 receipts were 86.6M euros, ultimately jumping to 101.7M euros when recalculated in November; a decline of over 60% versus 2019.
