It wasn't too bad

We watched this here in the UK with subtitles ... and to be honest I didn't think it was at all bad .. interesting story .. desires and wishes, witches, ghosts .. and Juliet had a lovely apartment .. obviously with the dialogue being in Spanish we couldn't tell if the lines were delivered well but overall we quite enjoyed it. I haven't seen many Mexican films but going by this I would view others. I'm surprised at such negativity and I certainly wouldn't describe it as unwatchable so give it a go you may just enjoy it
And no this isn't one of these fake reviews where people are paid to give good reviews lol.

Interesting and Thought Provoking Horror

Julieta casts a love spell on her co-worker, Daniel, with the help of a shamen. Mexico has a huge problem with domestic violence, and El Amarre provides a social commentary that provides a thematic richness and depth absent from a lot of other contemporary Mexican horror films. The acting and production values are superb, and the narrative always keeps you guessing, although the ending does feel a bit rushed.
I would highly recommend it to genuine fans of horror, but not to people expecting an Hollywood production in Spanish. This film was not widely distributed because the pandemic, which makes this film something of a hidden gem to anyone willing to give it a try.
