The opening song is a little weak, but once you smash cut the heist movie bit with Motown recording artists plotting to steal their masters ala Ocean such and such, the show gets going. Marlon Wayans is unhinged, making the jokes that really only a Wayans can do. The EGOT/Blockbuster Video musical exercise is pretty long in the tooth. Screams that they thought having Legend and Common required they do something and that that something be a little long. Usually the show worked best with some light structure and a solid mix of quick bites and meatier character driven bits. This one feels like a couple writers room duos working out their beats.
