"Zomboat" improves again, just marginally this time, over episode two - but this is perhaps the moment when the show crosses that threshold into being one where I'd advocate persevering with the first episode and hunting the show down.

After last week's diversion north, the gang take the canal boat back south, just about getting back to where they started. Realising that their hotel is right by the canal, Amar (Ryan McKen) and Sunny (Hamza Jeetooa) decide to head back inside to see if any of their stag party have survived the night, Kat (Leah Brotherhead) decides to join them and it soon becomes apparent that she's enjoying the apocalypse more than she should. Jo (Cara Theobold ) meanwhile is still coated in blood from the parking attendant she ran over last week and just wants a shower.

Whilst still not "top tier" comedy, this episode is an improvement again. Funnier than the last, the show also has a little more budget spent on this episode, with various hotel rooms used for sets and an increased number of extras and feature Zombies than ever before. There's a bit more background provided, in that seemingly the outbreak is contained to Birmingham (somehow) so getting out of town does seem like a good plan. Whether that is still possible is debatable - maybe the army will assume that the canals aren't worth monitoring - we'll see. There are a few other seeds planted for future episodes plot wise too.

As I said last week, all I can ask is that each episode is better than last week, and so far it has.

Episode 1.3

The zombies might be the living dead. You do wonder if Jo is just brain dead.

To get rid of the blood and body parts from her hair and face, she leaves the boat behind to try and get a shower or bath. Zombies take over it.

The others go to the hotel that Sunny and Amar were staying in for their friend's stag party. They are looking to see if any of their friends have survived.

This episode focussed more on Sunny and Amar. At least Zomboat wants to develop its characters and there were a few chuckles in this.

I did think though that in this episode, the zombies have suddenly become more intelligent.
