This is a sweet little film on trying to rise above stereotypes & making a name for oneself. The story concerns Michael, a New York based actor of Puerto Rican background who is getting sick to death of being typecast in the usual stereotyped roles (drug dealer, thug, ultra macho Latin lover, etc.),and decides to produce his own film, with the help of his Brother & a handful of others who believe in his vision. Although the film is cast with a no name cast, it is still far more real than the usual glut of cine crap that manages to make Hispanics look like either the usual thugs (Scarface anyone?),or buffoons (just about any thing with Cantinflas). I admired the film's visual look, which incorporates both standard film stock,as well as high definition video for certain sequences. It's a sure bet that this film will (sadly)receive sparse distribution, due to the fact that it portrays Hispanics in a positive light.
