The console wars of this generation has seemingly rested on the winning side of Sony thus far. With Aaa exclusives like Spider-Man, The Last of Us, and even Square Enix’s 2023 venture, Final Fantasy 16. But if this month has taught us anything, it’s that the gaming industry is now turning more volatile than ever. With studio closures and even many games seeing the door, gamers aren’t even cautiously optimistic anymore.
Final Fantasy 16
Which might be the case now for Sony’s fanboys as well. When a big name like Square Enix says they’re going multi-platform, it’s bound to raise eyebrows. What may be PlayStation’s loss could just be Xbox’s, nay, the gaming community’s win.
Square Enix just parachuted out of Sony’s tower
Labelled a new strategy, Square Enix is looking to shift from quantity to quality, as is obvious from their recent Consolidated Financial Results.

Gawrsh! It’s time to fire up the rumor mill because fresh hearsay suggests a Kingdom Hearts movie is in the works. Dear Kingdom Hearts fans, before you start seeing stars and giving your keyblade replica a shine, it’s important to note that this news is as unofficial as it comes. The rumor corresponds with a post shared by industry leaker DanielRPK, who also claims a silver screen adaptation of the character-rich RPG is happening. DisInsider says Disney has yet to greenlight the film, so take all this with a grain of salt.

Final Fantasy is, without a doubt, one of the most popular Japanese role-playing franchises out there. Square Enix tasks its various in-house development studios to develop several games in this franchise every few years. This assures a steady flow of new games in the series. Keeping up with this trend, last year Final Fantasy XVI was launched, and this year fans got Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth.
While this newly released remake of this 1997 original is no doubt an excellent game, fans have started noticing some problems with it. One can be assured that some minor problems in otherwise excellent games should not ruin anyone’s experience, but some fans disagree; they just cannot look beyond the numerous side quests on offer in Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth.

Fans Upset About Past Mistakes From Fox That Failed to Highlight One Major Aspect of X-Men’s Cyclops
It’s already a universal sentiment how Fox did a disservice to many X-Men characters, particularly Scott Summers, aka Cyclops. He is one of the major heroes in the story and a founding member of the X-Men, and yet he was constantly pushed to the sideline.

With the arrival of X-Men ’97, fans were greeted with the improvement in the treatment of Cyclops and his signature power, the optic blast.

For more than 35 years, the Final Fantasy series has been synonymous with video game RPGs. Originally conceived as Square’s last-ditch effort from a company that was on the verge of bankruptcy, Final Fantasy turned into a surprise hit, resulting in dozens of sequels and spin-offs over the years. Whether it’s epic storylines, constantly evolving combat systems, or just the iconic music, millions of gamers around the world have made Final Fantasy one of gaming’s biggest franchises.

[Spoiler Alert: This interview includes details about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth]
The highly anticipated action-adventure RPG Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has finally been unleashed into the Chocobo wilds.
Rebirth, the second game in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy that serves as a three-part reimagining of the original 1997 game, follows everyone’s favorite ragtag eco-terrorists Cloud (Cody Christian), Barret (John Eric Bentley), Tifa (Britt Baron), Aerith (Briana White) and Red Xiii (Max Mittelman) as they make the perilous journey to The Forgotten Capital in hopes to stop the legendary solider and deranged superhuman Sephiroth from plunging the planet into chaos.
Bringing the Final Fantasy VII Remake project to fruition was no easy feat as developers had to tackle maintaining a balance between the beloved story that has permeated video game pop culture for nearly three decades and creating new experiences for a new generation of fans while expanding on the original material for diehards. Much like its predecessor, the scope of...

Xbox is missing out yet again with another game, and it’s not just a filler title but possibly the biggest game of the year: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The timed exclusivity deal that PlayStation has with the developer and publisher is a major blow to the rival company and is a clear indication that regardless of how powerful their hardware can be, it is futile without games to play with. Xbox Legend Parris Lilley weighs in on the negative impact of exclusivity on the gaming community in general and hopes it goes away for good.
PlayStation and Nintendo excel in the same aspect, which is their exclusive games. While Xbox may have a more powerful console, the quality of their first-party games is not comparable to that of their competitors, which is holding them back.

When Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was first announced, many Xbox users were disappointed, knowing it would be a PlayStation exclusive. Considering it’s developed by Square Enix, many would have thought there would be no issue with launching it on all platforms available. After all, previous Final Fantasy titles are on the platform, as are other Square Enix games.
One outspoken Xbox diehard, Parris Lilly, offered his two cents on the matter. But it seems he’s contradicting his previous statements, a fact that many fans and followers are not willing to simply gloss over.
Parris Lilly Comments on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Exclusivity and Gets Shown His Hypocrisy
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth‘s exclusivity rubbed Parris Lilly the wrong way.
The critique comes from X user BlackMaskGR, who posted three pictures directed at Parris. That’s a pretty mean-spirited accusation, but it is not entirely misplaced when one looks at the pictures in the post.

If you thought Final Fantasy 7 Remake was a mind-blowing re-imagining of Final Fantasy 7, just wait until you try to wrap your head around Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The Final Fantasy team has their gloves off at this point, and they’re crafting a story that is proving to be every bit as convoluted and confusing as the “best” of the Kingdom Hearts series.
So, while we’re going to dive into Rebirth‘s final moments to help make sense of everything, I should emphasize that so much of this game is clearly meant to be left up to interpretation (at least for the moment). I will offer some theories about what all of this may mean, but there are certain answers we’re just not yet meant to know quite yet.

The launch of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has been enjoying multiple forms of reception; from positive reviews to discussions around the game’s new storylines and mechanics. As anyone familiar with Hollywood could tell you, remakes are hard. Other than bringing something old to a new audience, many remakes struggle to bring anything fresh enough to justify the double dip. In the world of video games, it’s a little different. Based solely on the tech aspect, remaking a game affords developers the opportunity to fully execute a vision in ways previous generations only dreamed of. But that still doesn’t make it easy — especially when the game you’re recreating is considered one of the greatest ever made.

Square Enix is smashing it with its remakes of Final Fantasy 7, a title that originally came out nearly three decades ago and definitely feels outdated. In the luddite days of the Nineties, there were a handful of ways to discover a new video game: You could hear about it in the schoolyard from that one kid who swore that their older brother got a copy straight from Japan. You could read about it from a more legitimate source, like a magazine you picked up at Borders. Or you could inevitably stumble across a commercial on TV. That last one, that’s how I discovered the original Final Fantasy VII. But unlike other game commercials that relied on near-traumatic,...

JRPGs have historically been a niche genre. Ask most gamers to name a character from Dragon Quest or Persona, and they will likely draw a blank. But ask them to name someone from Final Fantasy, odds are they will say, “Cloud Strife.”
The Final Fantasy series has been around for almost 40 years and consists of 16 main entries plus countless spin-offs and sequels. Yet when most people think of the series, they usually jump to Final Fantasy 7. Even Square Enix considers this game its golden child. Not even Final Fantasy 14 and its incredible ongoing profitability can compare to Final Fantasy 7.
Nevertheless, the question arises: How and why did Final Fantasy 7 become such a mainstream hit? The answer is a combination of game design and development decisions, a new marketing strategy, and the perpetual motion machine of popularity.

Hotly anticipated after the juggernaut success of Final Fantasy VII in 1997, Final Fantasy VIII, the eighth iteration of the beloved franchise about crystals and cool summons fell into our eager hands only two years later. It was all here, epic Fmv sequences set to Nobuo Uematsu’s rousing score. A story about a school of young mercenaries, tied together by fading memories and the need for heroes against an evil sorceress. An enhanced but familiar battle system, adding in the wrinkle of resource management (drawing power from others to fill your reserves) to help keep the system fresh.
It even featured dual protagonists, for a while dividing our time between the loner mercenary trainee Squall Leonheart and the eager soldier Laguna Loire in a series of background-setting flashbacks. And yet, years later when the scores are tallied and our favorites lined up, Final Fantasy VIII is almost always an unruly stepchild.

While 2020’s Final Fantasy 7 remake controversially changed many elements of the original game, the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is expected to significantly alter even more aspects of the classic RPG. In a new blog post, the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth team hinted at how those changes will impact two fan-favorite characters: Sephiroth and Aerith.
In the parts of the original Final Fantasy 7 adventure that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will remake and re-imagine, Sephiroth was still something of a mystery. Though players were aware of the character by that point, he wouldn’t become a larger player in the narrative until a little later in the game. However, the version of Sephiroth that we’ll see in Rebirth will be a much more active participant in that specific part of the experience.
