Transformers Animated came to an end with its third season, but it wasn’t always intended to be that way! Various plans existed for a fourth season that would have continued the story of the series and taken it in a new direction.
Transformers Animated (2007)
During the brainstorming phase for the fourth season, Marty Isenberg, the story editor, envisioned a narrative that would span both Cybertron and Earth. The focal point would remain on Cybertron, the homeworld of the Transformers, but the discovery of new energon deposits on Earth, originating from shards of the AllSpark, would necessitate the Autobots’ continued defense against the energy-starved Decepticons on our planet as well.
Suggested“Young Justice should deal with these issues”: One DC Hero Became a Symbol of Mental Health after Showrunners Talked to an Iraqi Vet Suffering Ptsd
According to Isenberg, season 3 embraced a more traditional Autobot vs. Decepticon war narrative.

There have been a lot of "Transformers" cartoons since 1984. Most of them (and I say this as a fan) are pretty unimpressive. One of the best ones is "Transformers: Animated," which aired from 2007 to 2009 on Cartoon Network. Network executive Sam Register created the series like it was "Teen Titans" with robots. Register even recruited one of that show's character designers, the late Derrick J. Wyatt, resulting in a similar art style.
"Animated" broke away from past series' tenets, transforming them you might say — the show's team even cast Megatron voice actor extraordinaire David Kaye as Optimus Prime instead. The series was explicitly pitched as "more like a superhero show than a 'Transformers' show" (read the original production bible here for many tantalizing insights and scrapped ideas). The Autobots each had unique powers and faced off against human villains; against the Decepticons, they were definite underdogs.

Voice actor David Kaye still remembers getting the news he'd been cast on "Transformers: Animated." Two weeks after a callback where he read for multiple characters, he got a call from his agent. Kaye, who was driving in downtown LA, answered his phone and heard the news: he'd got the part ... of Optimus Prime. Kaye's response as he swerved his car: "Who?!"
While Kaye had read for Optimus Prime (and noticed voice director Susan Blu liked what he was doing), he walked into the audition expecting to get a different part. The part, in fact, that was furthest from Optimus Prime — Megatron. At the time, Kaye had been voicing Megatron for about a decade, first in "Beast Wars."
During the 1990s and 2000s, Kaye was a staple of Canada's voice-acting pool. Mainframe Entertainment, based in Vancouver, developed "Beast Wars" and recruited local talent, Kaye among them. A few years later,...

The Transformers film franchise is getting a new kind of offering from its proverbial AllSpark, an animated prequel movie. The early details imply ambitious designs for this project, and the studios tapped a major talent from the world of animation, Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley.
Hasbro’s eOne and Paramount are moving forward with a project described as a big-scale Transformers animated prequel feature designed for theatrical release, according to Deadline. The story will be set on Cybertron, the planet from which the gigantic protean automatons originated, set several years before the main story, focusing on the early relationship between altruistic Autobot leader Optimus Prime and malevolent Decepticon leader Megatron. Thus, the movie could provide some key context when it comes to the motivations for the eventual ongoing conflict—conveniently moved to our Earth—of the two warring sides.

30 years ago today, John Hughes's teen movie The Breakfast Club opened in the Us, and although it wasn't a runaway box office hit, in the years since it has rightly claimed a place as a screen classic.
Buoyed by brilliant performances, a sharp script and direction from Hughes and that Simple Minds track, this is a film we return to again and again. But what happened to its stars? We go then and now with the cast to find out what happened to the brain, the athlete, the basket case, the princess and the criminal.
Anthony Michael Hall - Brian Johnson
A staple of John Hughes movies in the '80s, Hall brought endearing geeky charm to National Lampoon's Vacation , Sixteen Candles and Weird Science.
As he grew out of child star roles, Hall sought to shed his established screen persona with a diverse selection of character parts across film and TV.

Warner Bros. Animation continues to pump out movie straight to DVD DC Comics movies, and today it's been announced that they are developing Justice League Doom which will be inspired by Mark Waid's Tower of Babel storyline.
The story finds Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg and Batman on their heels when a team of super villains discover and implement the Dark Knight’s “contingency plans” for stopping any rogue Justice League member. The film stars the voice talent of Nathan Fillion, Kevin Conroy, Michael Rosenbaum and Tim Daly.
The DC comics animated movie are hit and miss for me. Some I like other I hate. The most recently film I saw was Batmas: Year One, and even though the animation was good, I didn't care for how it was brought to life. The direction was off, especially with the voice acting.

The way the voices of Transformers get digitally manipulated, we could tell you Johnny Depp was voicing a character and it would be hard to prove us wrong. So, be that as it may, in an interview with a small Idaho newspaper, actor Bill Fagerbakke (Coach, Spongebob Squarepants, How I Met Your Mother) revealed that he'll be "voicing an animated Chevy Impala stock car equipped with machine guns" in the upcoming Michael Bay film Transformers: Dark of the Moon [1]. Read more about the character, and even see a photo or two, after the jump. Big thanks to Screenrant [2] for uncovering this nugget of news on MagicValley.com [3]. Fagerbakke has an incredibly long history as an actor and voice actor. I mean, he's Patrick on Spongebob for crying out loud! But another one of his many credits just happens to be as the character Bulkhead on the Transformers: Animated series that...

Discovery Communications is rebranding another of its channels, partnering with toy giant Hasbro in a 50/50 venture to relaunch Discovery Kids Network.
As part of the deal, in which Discovery will receive $300 million, the venture will also take a minority interest in the U.S. version of Hasbro.com, which will expand to offer video, games and other digital content.
The rebranded channel's name is yet to be finalized but won't include Hasbro. A search is under way for a CEO to head the network, eyed for a debut in late 2010 with content aimed at boys and girls ages 14 and under.
Last year, Discovery Communications -- which owns seven U.S. channels, led by flagship Discovery Channel and Tlc -- formed a 50/50 partnership with Oprah Winfrey's Harpo to relauch Discovery Health as the Oprah Winfrey Network. And Discovery Home Channel was rebranded with the eco-moniker Planet Green and Discovery Times as Investigation Discovery.

Director Michael Bay says he wants original Megatron voice actor Frank Welker for the character of Soundwave in Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen.
{sidebar id=1}Stemming from an interview with Welker with TFW2005.com, the question was posed -
Tfw: Have you been approached at all for any further work with the franchise, either with the movie (Soundwave?) or another incarnation, such as Transformers: Animated?
Welker: Well it is a little too early to be specific but I will say yes and no. No, I have not been approached by the movie folks but yes I am still involved in the franchise...more on that later.
The fanboys on Michael Bay's Shoot for the Edit boards starting the plea (again) for Welker to voice Soundwave in the sequel. This time Bay responded.
