I just watch this on tv, my heart feels heavy after watching it, the realisation is good and show without filters the hard truth about modern slavery.
The documentary follows a group of women in Philippines following a maid formation to work abroad in foreign families ( hoping to find a good family and not to be mistreated... which is more than common in china and middle east sadly... )
I traveled and lived a few years in south east asia and can rely to what i saw in this documentary, poverty pushing people to go work abroad in hope to earn more that what they could earn in their home country, leaving sometimes for years families and kids for a better future, sending money home to family while forgeting their own need freedom and happiness, the determination and courage it takes is indescribable.
