20th Century Fox‘s latest foray into the X-Men universe, the Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, Stardust) directed, X-Men: First Class is currently filming on Jekyll Island in Georgia. The Savannah Morning News reported a few weeks ago that producers will be filming on a 4.5-acre beach area east of Beachview Drive and the Clam Creek fishing pier on Jeckyll Island.
Now, according to Cbm, a Facebook status message from a cab driver in Georgia may indicate that Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine will make an appearance in Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class.
The status message states:
“I drove Hugh Jackman from X-Men To the Airport this morning. They are filming on Jekyll…Cool guy!”
Of course Jackman could just be paying a visit to the set, though it is possible that he may have a cameo appearance in X-Men: First Class as Wolverine. We’ll keep this one in the rumor file for now.

If you have Netflix and are a horror fan in need of something to watch this Labor Day weekend, one look at this gargantuan list I compiled of the new terror titles Netflix has added for instant streaming in just the first three days of this month should keep you busy until Labor Day next year. You'll find something for everyone, from older titles to recent releases, famous to obscure, classic to not-so-classic, monsters to maniacs - you name it.
For the record, I considered compiling this list in alphabetical order or by year of the film's release, but then I realized I had already spent well over an hour just sorting through the massive catalogue of titles Netflix has now made available for instant streaming and realized Labor Day would be over by the time I finished arranging this list in any kind of order. Ready? Here you go.

Written and Directed by Lola Wallace
Featuring Aaron Leddick, Cassie Jaye, Brett Hundley, Jill Slattery
Breakout Entertainment
The Creek (actually shot in 2007 and at various pre-release times also called Ghoulde Creek, Greed, and The Unfortunate) is Lola Wallace’s third released feature horror film. Special effects are again by Tom Devlin (as in her previous two films) but this is the first screenplay she’s taken on all by herself. The Creek mixes humor and tension, but not always in harmony with one another, and sets the stage for a story of revenge and betrayal in California’s mining days a century and a half ago that still haunts the California hills. And the people who walk around in them looking for gold...
Stopping by the gold-panning booth off the mountain road.
Four young tewntysomethings are on a trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to the best horror convention in the world.

When Tony asked me to moderate a panel on The Lair for at the Los Angeles Weekend of Horrors, I was thrilled. I participated in a bunch of panels at Gaylaxicon a couple years ago and had a ball because, let’s face it, I’m a bit of a ham. So the opportunity to be on a panel at a Fango con was an automatic, “Yes!”
As the date approached, I started to feel more and more nervous. I wondered if anyone would actually show up for this panel. I mean, The Lair is a fun show, but it’s on a Pay-Per-View network, and I would guess that ninety percent of its audience is more camp enthusiast than horror fanatic. Would there be any fans of The Lair actually attending the con? And more importantly, would there be any Glbt horror fans attending the con? Okay, yes, obviously...

Filmmaker/makeup FX artist Tom Devlin gave Fango the scoop that his latest movie The Trek will be hitting DVD April 11 from Plan 10 Pictures, and gave us a first look at the cover art (see below). The survival-horror opus is the third collaboration between Devlin (serving as writer/producer/FX supervisor) and Lola Wallace (director/writer/editor) after Legend Of The Sandsquatch and Ghoulde Creek.
The Trek stars Erin Fleming and Brett Hundley as Kim and Keith Russell, newlyweds who are terrorized during their honeymoon trip into the mountains by a group of malformed savages. The cast also includes Devlin himself, John Karyus and Splatter Disco’s Trent Haaga, with a brief appearance by Die You Zombie Bastards! director Caleb Emerson. On the unrated disc, the enhanced widescreen transfer will be accompanied by:
• Audio commentary by Wallace, Devlin, Fleming, Hundley and Karyus • Audio commentary by Wallace, Devlin, director of photography...
