Wow... (Not in a good way)
djthreat16 May 2023
I would rather watch Eli Roth's Cabin Fever on repeat for 48 hours straight and I would probably feel like I didn't waste either money or time or garbage. This movie must've paid for their reviews. Either that or people who've never watched a horror movie rated this film because... My god, I have never felt like I've wasted time on any movie as much as I have on this one. Had to watch it all the way through for the $6 that was robbed from me. The acting was beyond sub-par. The stories were either missing depth, rushed with weird plot gaps, or just overall bad in all aspects. The last story may have been somewhat worth watching which is why this got a 3. I felt like being somewhat merciful for a somewhat decent twist. I would not pay for this film knowing it was this bad. Save your $6. Wait until it's free. Watch Hobo With A Shotgun.

REAL REVIEW
soulcrisis282 October 2023
Let me first say, any review above 3 stars is FAKE! Either paid for, buddies of the people involved in making this steaming pile of garbage, or the actual people involved in making this steaming pile of garbage.

Acting-TERRIBLE Stories-TERRIBLE SFX-TERRIBLE

I think you get the point, I'm not gonna go any further into this cause it's not worth my time. Skip this, it's awful in every aspect possible.

Ok so, apparently I have to go a little further cause there's now a minimum required amount of characters for reviews. I gotta say the acting is just awful in this. Not as bad as someone who just reads their lines from the script with no emotion, yeah I've seen garbage with acting that bad in it befit m before sadly, but this is really close to it.

Trust me, just skip this. There's better stuff to choose from and watch.

Nauseating, when it wasn't boring.
billstubbles-9145818 August 2023
I turned this off after 20 minutes.

Someone apparently got the idea to rip off both the Saw franchises and Silence of the Lambs, and then scoured the dollar stores around Halloween to put together the ridiculous costume for Dr. Saville.

What I saw of the first story alternated between boring and nauseating, with a heavy serving of fat-shaming thrown in for good measure.

I saw this for free on Tubi and still feel ripped off - that's 20 minutes of my life I'm never going to get back.

The glowing reviews are either trolls, paid, or drinking buddies for whoever is responsible for this piece of garbage.

Far better anthology than expected hurt only by its wraparound
Waking up in his torture dungeon, a man is continuously tortured and tormented by a savage doctor mutilating him for a past indiscretion while also telling him several stories to speed up the process.

The Good Stor(ies): Consume-Stressed out from her job and an upcoming wedding, a woman decides to take an experiment weight loss treatment with a special bioengineered tapeworm ingested into her body only to succumb to some grisly and unexpected side effects. Overall, this was a really fun way to start things off. The main point of the process regarding her concern for the upcoming wedding as well as the initial positives of the treatment starts this quite well and the slow-building realization that the tapeworm she ingested has more malicious plans for her than just curbing her weight turns this one into a highly obvious if no less fun take that still delivers the goods rather well. It's just all too obvious and predictable about what's going on which is the only real issue here.

It's Complicated-Struggling to find a girlfriend, a perpetually lonely guy receives a strange gift in the form of a so-called aqua pet that turns into a fully-grown woman but their relationship turns sour when her homicidal tendencies come to the forefront. Overall, this was a rather enjoyable and entertaining segment. The relatable setup with his dating woes and the eventual joy he receives once she comes to life gives everything a fine innocence that carries itself over nicely to the sheer unhinged mentality present once she snaps and starts killing people. The gleeful menace that erupts once her creature side comes out and starts slaughtering those around her delivering a slew of great gore effects. It's all a bit rushed and could've been played out further for more time but it's not that big of an issue.

Break-At the onset of a zombie outbreak, a man protecting his house from the creatures with his young daughter trapped with him tries to make the time go by until help comes only for the zombie horde to get more daring in their quest to get them. This is a still fun if somewhat lesser entry than the other segments. The initial setup involving the presence of the horde and their means of protecting the house from others they believe are trying to get inside is quite fun, especially with the father/daughter relationship at the core of this one. However, that tends to keep the action low and the threat level to the basest term since it's not really given a lot of time to develop here. A tie-in to the other stories connecting everything is fine in concept but the execution was obvious from the start but that's the main issue.

The Bad Stor(ies): Dr. Saville's Horror Show-Waking up in his torture dungeon, a man is continuously tortured and tormented by a savage doctor mutilating him for a past indiscretion while also telling him several stories to speed up the process. Overall, this wrap-around setup is genuinely abysmal and barely has anything going for it. The Torture-Porn dynamics at play here are truly bottom-of-the-barrel material that its interest is sapped before even starting with the whole purpose routinely avoided by the knowing dodging of the reasoning behind it all like there never was a genuine purpose attempted to tie it all together. Even the finale bringing it all together is just pitiful and lame with the whole purpose of their interaction making the introduction of the filmed segments feel awkward and shoehorned in to make this even worse.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, and children-in-jeopardy.

you WILL be disappointed, if you believe the rave reviews by accounts with only 1 review
xmnytyme1 November 2023
You're not an idiot, so you aren't fooled by rave reviews by accounts that only have the one review, or accounts that haven't reviewed in years only to step forward to tell you how amazing this film is, or any of the common transparent liars tactics when it comes to reviews.

The stories are boring versions of stolen stories from YouTube shorts and other anthology movies. It has the feel of a movie written by 10 year olds for 10 year olds. Blunt "horror" when nuance is better or necessary.

The framing device for the anthology reeks of tryhardism, making Creepshow 3 and the abysmal series seem competent by comparison. The stories are lifted from HBO's Tales From the Crypt with stiffer acting and taking itself seriously, which is a mistake for any low talent film.

You won't be disappointed!
dwleo-0556611 April 2023
You have to see this movie. It's starts out slowly but be patient,it won't disappoint. Was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Watched it twice and picked up more the second time around. You don't want to miss a second of it! Not a big fan of horror movies but I really enjoyed this one. Was really surprised by the quality. The costumes, make-up and special effects were top notch. The acting was way above what I expected. I have seen high budget movies with rave reviews that had less finesse. I can understand why it won awards, they were well deserved. I hope everyone will give it a chance. You will love it!

INDEPENDENT HORROR LIVES!
J-DECAY12 April 2023
First & foremost, right off the top, I'm a DIE-HARD horror/anthology fan & have LONG desired something refreshing and NEW from the genre & boy oh boy, did Kevin, cast and crew DELIVER!

We were fortunate enough to see the screening at a local theater amongst an array of horror MANIAXE and it was one of the most exciting viewing experiences of recent memory. The crowd was lively, full of ooh's & ash's and since we keep these spoiler free, a few specific moments of WTF's in the coolest of ways possible, too!

I hate to be the guy already asking "what's next?" but damn it! WHAT'S NEXT?! I'm immediately itching for more & I'm positive if you're reading this & have already seen it, you are too!

10 out of 10 & a chef's kiss!

Indipendant horror with a heart.
ninjaearthworm11 April 2023
Well, not with a heart but will tear your heart out. This film has fun stories, crazy characters and a certain spirit to it that you don't find these days.

I really enjoyed Break, that story is heart wrenching but beautiful. I enjoyed the different ways of storytelling in each segment. I feel like this movie is accessble to more than just horror fans but also honors horror fanatics, particularly in a certain park scene.

If you can appreciate independent horror and like your horror in bite size chunks this is the way to go. But pay attention it's so much more.

I'm not trying to be all spoilerly here so, I am trying to use my words carefully. The Dr. Has a message. More than just be careful what you wish for but almost a life lesson about wanting more.

Crazy stuff. Enjoy!

Do yourself a favor and watch this movie!
gwashburn-8491811 April 2023
I was very impressed with how well this movie was made. The storyline was creative and kept me watching. The characters created for this movie were original. The creators did a great job introducing the characters, including their backstory and what direction their individual stories would take. The stories were intriguing and entertaining. The production value was impressive and the actors chose for this movie were obviously the right choice. They did a great job with their roles and they kept me entertained. If this movie is any indication of the true talent of the creators, I look forward to seeing their future projects.

My new favorite horror anthology!
Paul-Stein8417 April 2023
If you're a fan of Creep Show and/or Tales From The Crypt, you will love this movie! Three amazing creepy tales that tie together in such a clever way. All never before seen actors in this film and they were all amazing! The movie flowed so well. Not once did I feel like the story slowed down. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The Dr. Saville character was such a great concept for a wrap around story. This film was so well done I can't pick a favorite story. I laughed, I cried, I jumped several times. I would love to see a sequel! The music was amazing! The ending credits song was very catchy.

The new definition of horror and anthology story telling
joshsweten23 April 2023
Be afraid of what you desire...this movie brings you all that you want and get sucked into being there as the "Doctor is in and ready to help". All three stories are epic tales all wrapped up into one journey your horror desire has craved for years. Awesome kills, practical effects are amazing, photography is stunning and the sound brings you into the story and you can't escape! The actors bring raw emotion that only a top notch cast could bring. Award winning adventure that is a must see for horror lovers! Hope this brings more from the writer and director! And there will be blood--oh there will be blood.

Horror Feast!
jersgirl1314 April 2023
Dr. Saville is a feast of horror! This film provides all of the best ingredients that satisfy any true horror fans palate! Breaking rules, and making its own recipe, it includes shock, mental stimulation, gore, and editing that adds a cult classic flavor to the mix!

This film has original content, surprising twists, and compelling stories! Nostalgia hits hard for anyone who has ever been a fan of "Tales from the Crypt" mirroring stories told in the same fashion! The easiest critique in most indie films is always the acting...But this film has incredible actors in each story! Believable villains, and well in this case anti-heroes! Even stellar acting from the dog, and the child! This film is worth the watch for any horror film fan!

Gripping horror and suspense!
tbonej-4268012 April 2023
Dr. Saville's Horror Show is a horror movie that will leave you gripping your seat with suspense and drama. This film is a perfect blend of spine-chilling horror and intense drama that will keep you engaged throughout the entire movie.

The movie's atmosphere is haunting and eerie, setting a dark and creepy tone that creates a sense of unease from the very beginning. As the story progresses, a cast of intriguing characters are introduced, each with their own motivations and fears that add to the tension and drama of the film.

The film's cinematography is fantastic, with each shot carefully crafted to build suspense and heighten the horror. The lighting and sound design are expertly used to create a sense of claustrophobia and unease, leaving you on the edge of your seat and gasping in terror.

The acting in the film is exceptional, with each actor delivering a powerful and convincing performance that brings the characters to life. The dialogue is well-written and adds depth to the characters, making them feel like real people with real motivations and fears.

One of the most impressive aspects of Dr. Saville's Horror Show is the way it balances horror and drama. The film is not just a mindless gore-fest, but rather a thoughtful exploration of human nature and the depths of human depravity. The characters are complex and multi-dimensional, and the story unfolds in a way that is both suspenseful and thought-provoking.

Overall, Dr. Saville's Horror Show is an outstanding horror movie that is sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who watches it. It is a testament to the power of the horror genre to not only scare us, but to also make us think and feel deeply about the human condition. If you are a fan of horror movies, this is one that you definitely do not want to miss.
