This episode was the first in a long time that I enjoyed, and loved. For a while, the show was disappointing me, but I really loved this episode. It was real, and the tragedy was real. But what I really loved most was the character development and focus. From the beginning of the episode, the characters showed growth -- they are really growing and confronting their signature weaknesses. Especially Meredith, finally!! We even saw a different side of Cristina. The show opened without all the kvetching and complaining I'm so used to. (And of course it was great to see Adele and the chief...) The characters are getting their acts together -- Sloane, Meredith, Cristina, Izzy. And I love how the therapist cuts the BS and tells it like it is, pushing aside Meredith's usual rationalizations to make her grow up and see things as they are. This episode made me a fan again.
