Pleasant chills

Being Italian this film was snubbed and criticized for some its modern religion representations and because the dispute with Coca-Cola. Very underrated, instead I think that this movie should be among the masterpieces of Italian cinema.

Like the protagonist, I do not consider myself a believer, but if there is a modern movie that subtly, gently, let you inclined to believe in something, or let you doubts at least, this is "7 km from Jerusalem". Beyond the religious factor, which is a personal thing, the values carried by this work are powerful.

The slow-paced plot, anyway full of side stories, is about a separated secular middle-aged professional in deep crisis that getting, in an unexpected way, a ticket to Jerusalem, goes on the road to the holy land. Here, walking through the desert, like a mirage, he meets a man who claims to be Jesus.

The dialogs are magnificent, scenes and events that will profoundly change the skepticism and the life of the protagonist, poignant and moving. Soundtrack is amazing, photography and acting good enough, but really it is all about the stories and the script. It contains questions that many of us set ourselves at least once in our life.

An ingenious movie for adult audience, a really nice story. Really moving. Faith or not, a movie not to be missed.
