John Fawcett, who directed the pilot and finale episode of this series, was a co-creator, writer, and frequent director of the original series "Orphan Black" (along with co-creator Graeme Manson). He also co-wrote the pilot episode of "Echoes."
The credits of every episode pays homage the original series by using the song "Orphan Black Theme" by Two Fingers from the original series.
Set in 2052, "Orphan Black: Echoes" takes place nearly 40 years after the events of original series "Orphan Black." However the podcast "Orphan Black: the Next Chapter" - which first premiered in 2019 and released a second season in 2023 - takes place only eight years after the events of the original series. The podcast stars Tatiana Maslany, who narrates and voicing several existing and new characters. In season two of "Orphan Black: The Next Chapter," Maslany is joined by other Orphan Black alums Evelyne Brochu (as Delphine), Jordan Gavaris (as Felix), Kristian Bruun (as Donnie).
The theme song to this Orphan Black sequel is written and performed by Julien Baker.
Adam Suschitzky, who was the cinematography for five episodes of this series, also worked as a cinematographer for a few episodes of the Emmy -nominated British series "Upstairs Downstairs" which stars Keeley Hawes (aka Kira Manning).
