Sex & Nudity

  • Some light flirting by The Master/Harry Saxon with some of his staff.

Violence & Gore

  • Much violence in this episode, but no onscreen gore. The Master, early on, gasses the entire British Cabinet to death, in a Joker-like scene. Later, he dispatches one of his Toclafane constructs to kill a reporter. In a prolonged sound gag, we hear hear her scream as she is being slaughtered. The Master slams the door behind him, stoppong the screaming. After a beat, he opens it again a crack, to hear more screaming. A few beats later, he opens it again, for more screaming. He looks inside and grimaces.
  • The Master plants a bomb in Martha's house, blowing the building to pieces.
  • The Master engineers the assassination of the President of the United States (identified onscreen, incorrectly, as "President-Elect") through his Toclafane.
  • The Master ages The Doctor rapidly, turning him into an old man. In a deleted scene, he beats him mercilessly.
  • The Master causes the literal decimation of humankind.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The Toclafane are a terrifying prospect, as they're the heads of the refugees from the end of the universe in the previous episode.
