Shot in 24 days.
The opening scene in which the girls hop from bar to bar is clearly shot in Cape Town, South Africa, along Camps Bay promenade. The first bar is Café Caprice and the second is The Grand (previously Opium on the Beach). The beach on which they are sitting when they first meet the boys is on the Atlantic Sea Board as well.
Although the film is set in Mallorca, the sequence where the girls are in the cab on their way out is filmed on the Costa del Sol, as illustrated by the road sign for Belamadena and Torremuel.
Jaime Winstone revealed her father Ray Winstone wasn't fazed by her raunchy sex scenes in this movie. "I've not seen Donkey Punch yet but I want to," Ray told The Sun in 2008. "Jaime is trying to keep me away from it, but it comes with the job we're in. She's 23. She's not a kid anymore. It's her work and of course I want to take an interest in what she does. My daughter has had to grow up watching me and I've done some right dodgy ones in my time."
The title of the film derives from the sexual expression where an extra push - a donkey punch - is given to a woman as she climaxes to give extra pleasure.
