- While filming Medellin on location in Colombia, a documentary crew captures the behind-the-scenes action. Medellin is an independently financed movie, shot in Colombian hills, with a first-time producer and a young director. E's job is to make sure that Billy doesn't go over budget. Ari (Jeremy Piven) says his job is to make sure that even if the movie loses money, his client (Vince) should get back the amount he invested.
3 days before the shooting is to start, Billy (Rhys Coiro) tells Vince (Adrian Grenier) & E (Kevin Connolly) that he doesn't like the ending & needs to write a new one. He wants more extras (like 1000 more) for one of the critical scenes of the movie. Is irritated with anyone getting a phone call during even production meetings. E wants to delay the start so that Billy can finalize the ending, but Billy convinces E to start shooting & promises him an ending.
Drama (Kevin Dillon) is in town as he has wrapped up the first season of his TV show and come down to look for parts in Medellin. Billy & Drama are sitting on auditions & both get really emotional about a girl (Sofia Vergara) they hire to play the part of a village belle.
E agrees to support Billy in his choices. Its 8 weeks since the movie started and Billy doesn't have an ending yet. Billy hates the first few scenes that he shoots, although E & Vince love it. Billy blames the budget culture of E & becomes the cinematographer himself. Billy gets even more erratic as he gets sentimental over the village belle actress he hired. He stalls shooting as he is busy flirting with her. Then he abruptly stops the daily screening of scenes.
Things get even weirder when Billy bans sex on his sets, as he gets paranoid that Vince is having sex with the village belle. E is concerned that this is now impacting Billy's concentration, who still hasn't written the ending of the movie yet. Billy stops talking to Vince & even gets him to do 15 takes of a shot where Vince is supposed to kiss the village belle. Vince finally convinces Billy that he is not having sex with the village belle.
Billy asks E to get Stephen Gaghan to write the ending (he was the guy who wrote the Titanic). E says that Stephen will cost $ 200,000 per week for 2 weeks. Meanwhile Nicky Rubenstein (Adam Goldberg) (the financier of the movie) was caught with cocaine in his car. As a result, his accounts are frozen and passport taken away. Nicky cannot give any more money and can only pray that the $ 30 million he has already paid don't go down the drain. E has a heart to heart with Billy & gets him to step of his weird mind place !!!
E finally breaks through & gets Gaghan to come over to write the ending. Billy is so excited that he cant sleep the whole night. Billy writes the whole ending that night. Vince & E love the ending & they pay Gaghan $ 275,000 for doing nothing. Finally, the production is wrapped up & the whole team is happy.
